Okay, #godot people, I want to give Godot another try. Last time I kinda didn't like the UI and scripting, and looks like UI is better now and scripting... well I either will have to make friends with GDScript or will choose C# or Orchestrator to minimize the damage.

What are good and _actual_ tutorials on Godot in general can you recommend? Not exactly "how to make a whole game" more like "how to make anything in here so it would work". Preferably 2D, 3D is optional.

Another iteration, added experience, a weapon dock to see what you are using right now. A damage shader implemented and more sprites to look add.

I'll be between big jobs soon, and would love to dedicate at least a few months toward prototyping the management sim and exploration gameplay for this project.

Few days since the last update but it's mostly been engine things. Abilities are now able to interrupt key lifecycle events like input and animation.

The playing Animation drives whether the hitbox is in normal or crouch mode, and if it's attacking or not.

I've also started adding in interactive elements like breakables and enemies, and environmental areas like water.

Oh, and sound. I've got a 4-channel sound script that simulates the limitations of older consoles.

Wrote a Toon shader guide for Godot! We go over the light() function, hard shading with multiple steps and using the fresnel effect for the rim!
