Isle of Orcs updated, better and prettier! New stuff includes:
- Dialogue: You can right-click on your followers to give them orders or just check how they feel.
- Siege: You can now smash rival bands’ totems if you bring enough orcs!
- Bigger island: The island is bigger and supports more orcs.
- Better graphics: Everything looks better now with upscaling!

My little brother is making a game using AI, and it’s basically Super Melee from Star Control II. I was a little turned off at first, but have been inspired to develop my own from scratch using #Godot. This includes recreating all of his AI-generated ship sprites by hand, and slowly figuring out how to implement the mechanics by myself.

My hope is that I can include him in this, and we can make it a collaborative effort. I don’t know how far it will get, because I’m doing everything The Slow Way, but my hope is to show him how much better things can be when you do it all yourself.

Godot Question:
I'm trying to programmatically add a line of boxes I can click
I can add a line of boxes, but can't see how to make them respond to a click. I'd like to emit a signal
Do I have to create a Scene for the box, and connect a signal in the inspector? Or is there a way of programmatically adding a signal to each box?

I have now managed to write simple scripts to move the camera to an object of the script's choice and to gradually zoom in or out to the predefined level.

It's a small thing but I'm continuing to learn how to do things in the simplest way imaginable.

I am slightly closer to the first rough prototype of my game idea. Probably a lot more small exercises like this in the next few days, but they're useful because every time I do one, something small goes wrong (sometimes a few things) and I learn as I go about what *can* go wrong.

It's a lot of fun, when it's not extremely frustrating ^_^'

I'm a bit of a hoarder (to say the least), and that impulse extends to the digital space.

For software, it takes the form of wanting to have everything available at the same time. No window, no docker, no piece of information is unimportant.

Even when I'm not using it or will likely never use it.

It just makes me anxious not to have it on display. Because, well, What If I Need It Later?

And my PC doesn't have four screens for the heck of it. #godot being able to take almost two full ones is amazing.

It's a true goddess-sent that #godot now makes it easy to make dockers float and I can actually arrange stuff on multiple screens in a way that makes sense to me.

I don't know how easy (or possible) it was for me to get the layout I need before, but I couldn't do it.

Now, with a few minutes' tweaking, it's exactly right. What an improvement.
