There was a point in time where the "unable to decrypt" joke was fun, but if you're using a modern #Matrix client like #ElementX, this is old times. I'm only 1 person, so take my experience with a pinch of salt, but I've been using Matrix daily after setting up key backup: I haven't seen a "unable to decrypt" in *at least* A YEAR.
Sure, Matrix has its issues! But frankly, the joke is now disheartening, mostly a proof of bad faith, and acting counter-productively to the cause of open comms.

Das Element-Admin Team braucht dafür dann den Element-Namen und ist gerne bei der Einrichtung behilflich.

I've been offering spaces on my home Synapse server to the Discord groups I'm in, and two of them (out of a total of three) seem interested. The server is a wad of garbage because I couldn't figure out how to set everything up on it properly (no voice, no registration, doesn't work with mobile Element app, I made an account for myself but I don't think it's an "admin" account) but at least it's something.
