The code for the sequel to "Idosra: The Electric Renaissance" has progressed faster than planned. Moving to Godot has been pretty smooth, and I already have the back-end code done.
I'm far enough along to start thinking about art direction. I drew the PC (Marika) in manga style, and I kinda like it-a bit more "magical girl" vibe than I first imagined, but that could open up lots of ways to expand on my favorite parts of the original game.

Hey would any Godot rendering geniuses be willing to help me figure out how to get this post-processing shader (link below) working as a Compositor Effect? It's a fairly simple dither effect that uses the depth buffer to apply gradual noise to the colors to give a really interesting jitter to the dithers that I really like. AFAIK this kind of shader is only possible with the janky "plane that always renders and is vertex mapped to the camera at all times" trick, or with Compositor Effects.
In my testing, I've been able to get basic compositor effects working, but this one keeps complaining that my push constant is of the wrong size, and the size changes seemingly randomly from the editor viewport and runtime. Not certain how to resolve that issue. Any help would be appreciated!

I did some iterations, I improved the textures and added some short animations.
In the background I reworked most of the code, before I used "global systems" handling all the interactions but that did fall apart with around 2k of objects active. The new system does allow for around 12k objects to run without a frame drop. So this is quite an improvement.

Today I extended the inspector to handle vectors and range type hints.
Added a global after_scene_tree_ready handler that fires after the GUI is ready.
Useful for things like loading the last open project.
Added a global timer that ticks every second and processes a list of callbacks. Useful for things like save the settings x seconds after the last change. Or autosave the project every 5 minutes.
Enabled the "Low Processor Mode" for the godot project.

Is it just me, or is Godot's GDscript way more straightforward to work with that Unreal's Blueprints? For once, I don't feel like I'm constantly fighting the engine, just having to sometimes figure out which tutorials and bits of advice are outdated.
