Somehow, the whole knight-on-a-hobby-horse setup still wasn’t silly enough for me. So I added an apple on top – which you can have a gnome shoot off your head, Wilhelm Tell style.
Oh, and you can now stumble awkwardly too.

Had to do it eventually, so I got palette swapping support working at the voxel-by-voxel level.
Cool side effect of this approach:
- The player can repaint terrain without any added overhead.
- Palette cycling is possible, for old school palette-based animation styles.
- I can have procedurally-generated terrain types that reuse existing textures

Je comprend pas trop comment bien paramétrer la transparence des haircard sur godot, j'ai bien enlevé le cull mode, mais je sais pas entre le Alpha scissors , Alpha Hash et Depth Pre-Pass aucun me satisfait vraiment... jsais pas si il y a moyen d'améliorer en dehors de choisir entre ses 3 modes...

Godot's got a built-in parallax node, which is great and everything, but if I wanted to do the bottom flower field like this I'd need a new parallax node for every 3 pixels, so I wrote my own parallax shader.
Might actually be time to start building a level out of this.
Since I've got the background done I might as well replicate Emerald Hill Zone.
