Game engine breakdown for Global Game Jam 2026 in Munich.
I think the biggest suprise is that UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite) oupaced Unreal Engine!

Blades in the Dark Character Sheets:
I have a whole bunch of data (mostly lists of Text, but some text Dictionaries, and other) that needs to be called by Character Sheet.
What is the best way to hold this data, and where?
e.g. lists of Heritages, Backgrounds, Special Abilities (by Playbook), etc

Trying out #Godot's volumetric fog system for rendering clouds. It's not working great. Clouds are lit too uniformly, and are too soft even at GPU-melting quality settings.
Still, it was a useful experiment, because I now know this will look *great* when added at sea level. Very atmospheric.

Started on a Blades in the Dark sheet.

On a totally related note, if you're looking to get into coding or fine tune your skills I'm currently able to take on a few more people/small groups teaching web programming (frontend and backend), basic game development with #godot, or narrative game creation for non-coders. I've got enough experience with the UK school system I can also help you present evidence to the local authority for home educators.

#GlobalGameJam2026 is over!
Managing the jam site was quite a challenge: 22 people, with half of them at their first #GameJam
We tried to follow everyone, this gave me very little time to invest in the game my team and I decided to build, but we did it anyway ❤️
First time trying 3D stuff with #godot definitely, it's not something that will be released on Steam 😂
But it lasts the incredible time of 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀! 😎
