How would I go about differentiating characters in a text mesh in shader code? I've been looking into the RenderingServer directly, or maybe I could extend the RichTextLabel some way? I just haven't found a solid lead yet (but that might be due to gamejam stress lol)

There's still a very slight frame glitch when #Godot loads the next scene, even when doing `await get_tree().process_frame` just before switching. Probably not possible to get rid of?

Random #godot PSA for those who didn't know (like me):
You can easily add timed sounds (or anything else) to an animation imported from Blender if you just enable Save to File and check Keep Custom Tracks in the import window.
