@neil This is a very thoughtful and balanced article.
It's great though that there are things like #YUNOhost, lowering a lot of the technical barriers.
Still, I have had to learn a lot and put in quite a lot of time. And I haven't exactly done it for fun - more for ethical reasons.
It would be nice if there were more providers of online services to choose from, and you could simply choose a trustworthy one for a reasonable fee. Not everyone should have to host but we need a certain number to.

@fred Ha oui, tu as LibreTranslate et c'est web. Perso je l'ai installé sur un #yunohost comme ça, je l'utilise même à distance. En fait c'est une API mais il y a une page web. J'ai installé Anglais Français et Italien.

Tout pareil, j'en ai deux : un qui héberge une instance #yunohost , un pour ma domotique #homeassistant et j'attends d'avoir les fonds pour en attraper quelques uns en plus pour héberger des trucs qui n'ont peut-être pas vocation a être packagés pour yunihost. Ça consomme peu, ça prends peu de place et c'est si robuste, c'est tellement le bon plan pour l'auto-hébergement !

Hey, GoToSocial folks,
I'm running my GTS through the Masto-FE (🦥 flavour) front end. The word filters page goes to a 404, is there a workaround to filter words/hashtags?
Also, the filter at the top of the home feed is entritely inoperable.
(both the server and the front end are whatever the current versions available on yunohost)
