Uberspace könnte klappen, aber das fällt aus, weil die ja schon rumheulen, wenn man zwei kleine statische Webseiten hat ("mimimi pro Projekt ein uberspace Konto mimimi") und ich bin kein Erbmilliardär. Bei meinem anderen Hoster hab ich keinen ssh-Zugang. Bleibt nur noch #Yunohost, aber das ist von Haus aus schon sehr wackelig und ich muss befürchten, dass es dann komplett crasht. *seufz*

Sooooo my recent mishaps with server administration are making me speed up my plans of shifting towards community-owned and -maintained hosting.
Ever since my conversation with @boris almost one year ago, I took his quote “self-hosting is selfish” as a mantra. It’s time to act accordingly.
Together with @Holly and @youjungnoh, we are putting together a group of tech-savy people who want to, respectively:
There are many super cool collectives that are doing this already, and we intend to draw inspiration from their work and their documentation, but we really want to do this together!

Bei jedem Neustart des Routers bekommt er natürlich eine neue, öffentliche IP zugewiesen - und das schmeisst mir dann die Einstellungen der DNS-Zone meiner Domain bei #Metanet wieder über den Haufen...
Tiens, j'ai un problème avec #Yunohost : quand je lui donne un trop grand nombre de noms de domaines à gérer (combien exactement, je ne sais pas encore), les certificats de chiffrement ne sont plus automatiquement régénérés.
D'autres personnes ont eu ce problème ?

I admit defeat.
#Nebuchadnezzar, the #YunoHost-powered server I am the admin of, is broken and is not coming back up soon. I spent the whole day trying to restore a backup, but I failed miserably, so far.
I made a mess, and I broke things I should have never touched in the first place. No one else to blame but my stupid upgrade impulses.
Cross your fingers, send positive energy and #sysad wisdom my way.

I'm gonna try setting up another VM to run alongside this one (the VM I use to run everything currently), to run YunoHost, to run Loops.
I will post an update about this when I have one.
It took way too much effort to get #AppFlowy working on my #YunoHost server. Not to mention that all outbound #Email is handled by my #MailCow server so had to set up a SMTP Relay and credentials on the MailCow server so it could authenticate. And of course then having to disable sender checks for that mailbox too.
Like I said, way too much effort.
But everything is finally working at least. Including Email link authentication. And no more MAILER-DAEMON bounces.
