Was curious if #Matrix' Element X was able to successfully verify if it isn't FluffyChat doing the verification, but the old Element Web client.
Would've loved to try, but the Element client gets stuck at the "Use Recovery Key" button during login and simply does nothing. 😅

Aaaah, I WANT to like you Matrix, but you do everything you can to prevent working correctly.

Yikes. Completely destroyed #federation for my #matrix server, when I replaced a container that was also hosting the .well-known/matrix directory with the server info file.

Federation broke for about a week, slowly getting back to normal now.. 🙈

#devOops I guess 😂

@openess Having used both, at the end of the day it comes down to your personal experience and what you are able to migrate your family to.
At some point I stayed on #matrix, but there is no specific reason why I would not use #xmpp again

Why don't you just try running it in parallel to you current matrix server and give it a try.

From what I read here, experience varies wildly.

@liaizon I am afraid that its focus on and will make adoption hard. Specifically that the way to get something like a username is to register on ENS (requiring you to buy crypto). By default you get a wallet address which is nowhere near human readable. Message history seems to be another challenge. Also, Its connection to doesn’t help build trust.

Thanks for shinning a light. I will keep an eye on it. For now, I am going with instead of

i will implement a matrix-to-linkedin bridge tonight... most likely very late at midnight

together with the existing matrix-to-discord bridge, my #matrix server should be useful enough to help me & other ppl quit using proprietary stuff
