One thing I see a lot in game dev discussions is people treating node composition and component architecture as if they are identical.

They overlap, but they are not the same design approach.

I made a video breaking down the distinction, why it matters, and how you can build a lighter component-style setup in Godot instead of defaulting to more behavior nodes.

Forgot this morning and now #screenshotsaturday is almost over xD Heres some new additions to my game, a trigger log to see when cards activate and what they did. And a slide out to view your current modifiers organized by category that expand open if you need to read them yourself.

a few things changed since last time.

the movement is a bit different. it has drag now and the rotation is done manually instead of applying torque so it's more responsive

the reason i introduced drag despite being in space is that the space ship becomes harder to control at high speeds (due to having to apply an opposite force to slow down. And well having to pay attention to asteroids too). turns out, these old games know their shit !

either way, asteroids now also split into two :333

I finally finished a project I have been working on for a couple of weeks now: gdlike, a lightweight C++20 toolkit for working with binary #Godot data from your C++ code.

What it provides:
* Lightweight representations for the Godot variant/type system
* Facilities for reading and parsing the binary Godot formats (pck, scn)
* Lightweight node and scene tree representation

This also marks my change from GitHub to #codeberg as a hosting provider!

Thanks Nicole! Here's an updated attack #animation. I know. I keep posing these same animations over and over and over. I promise I'll be happy with them one day!

Also is the original before I decided to switch to IK for the arms and hands. I'm thinking switching was a mistake. I kinda like the original better.
