The #Jolt physics engine handles it quite reasonably! This is still a subject with a lot of uncertainty for me, to see if it will work with multiple joints in complex machines.

For now, it wasn't intentional, but apparently I've created a trailer pull back simulator. It's as painful to drive as in real life 😅 You can't look 360° so you have to rotate in the other direction each time the trailer goes on the other side, and of course the trailer itself is hard to control...

I've added a hinge part in the game. Same procedure: modeled with #FreeCAD, then textured in #Blender, and integrated in the game with the #Godot editor. This works great! At least for prototyping.

First prototype of first game after first month! It’s an arcade-style adaptation of Weird Fishes. You’re a seal-mermaid getting energy from encounters with other sea creatures. I’m real happy that I got the movement to feel playful and effortless. Fun!

It's taken me all week to get this working

My mistake was trying to do arbitrary gravity so late into the project rather than as a first principle. But I've made it here, with simple gravity flipping

I've done arbitrary gravity engines before but it's much much simpler and easier when
1) Your sensors all come out the origin of the player
2) You've not got specific transition logic when jumping and landing
3) Your speed is not affected by slopes
(and more beside)
