Hello, could somebody help? I have a scene where guards shooting bullets in mobs. In the guards script there is variable where position of the closest mob defined and this variable is used in the bullet script as target position. Each guard must look at closest to him mob and shooting it but the problem is each of them actually look at closest but bullets from all guards anyway are going to the mob defined first. Variable updating for look_at method but remains for move_toward.

Trying to sort out a good way to have these interact popups not suck. Is teleporting a mesh with a rendertexture on it really the best way? Seems incredibly awkward.

Well, game dev always looks like crap until the day it doesn't, or so I hear. I'm working on the 3D sections and that means starting with the ability to move around.
Godot's built-in character setup is just physics. So you have to mine down and find things like how to respond to the mouse.

It's been 2 years since I started work on Undead Farmstead 2. To celebrate I'm releasing a small quality-of-life update and putting it on sale at half price for the next 2 weeks.

I've been refactoring my Inventory code.
Several Classes have stretched over the magic 200 lines, and there was a lot of referencing variables within the Inventory class, so I've tried tidying it up.
Hopefully, everything now goes through Inventory methods.
Quite a bit of testing to do, make sure I haven't broken anything!
This week I made 14 new skills. Here's Coda using 4 of 'em:
- Dash: Ram into and knockback your opponent
- AP Candy: +6 AP
- Shuriken XL: Throw a big shuriken at your opponent
- Dirty Magazine: Surprise your opponent, end power gathering

For whatever reason, coding a progression system never occurred to me until now (I've been doing it with boolean flags). All I have to do is keep two lists in the main save -- one for which milestones have been unlocked, and another for which ones have been properly "notified" to the player.
All the notification logic happens wherever it needs to. It just has to check if something has already been notified and whether it's unlocked.
It's stuff like this that making actual full games teaches you. All the bits of glue logic surrounding the actual game mechanics can easily become spaghetti code if you're not careful, but up until recently I've never really had the need for something like this so I never built a proper one.
Too late to refactor much more than this, but my next game that has to track progression, play cutscenes, etc, will have a much more tidy system for sure.
