Still just placeholder art, but you can see that the scenes allow for easy scripting and branching. It's all animated and ready for sound effects, too.

So i love #godot but one criticism i (used to?) have is that it felt unoptimized. my (Compatibility renderer) 3d game ran very poorly on low end devices like my pixel 3a.

i made optimizations in my game's code that helped a lot. but the game was still near unplayable.

However recently my game has started to run much better on low end devices and i can only assume optimizations are being made in the engine. And I am very thankful for that. heh i guess it's timely for #thanksgiving

This is going to be a stretch but... does anyone know how to achieve mist rainbow effect in #Godot? This is the effect in real life: youtu.be/RfXg2AXzfnw

And I want to do something similar in the water splashes of my ship in #Paraploimos

I think maybe with stencil buffer is doable? Like having a rainbow texture being drawn only on the splashes?

Day 25

Good news: The terrain mesh and height map are now build from the same data. Driving across chunk barriers in single-threaded mode now feels less stuttery.

Bad news: It's also wrong. The mesh and heightmap are more detached than before and there is a noticeable error in the normals at the chunk borders.

I'll have to keep working on that some more, I still have some ideas.
