Just updated the #yunohost package of #flohmarkt to the latest release 0.12.1. All the new features of 0.12.0 are included.

That seems quite rational and naturally wise to me. The first thing you 'll need on #yunohost is a #nextcloud storage working fine and their applications store can fulfill almost all the basic needs.

I've been self-hosting NextCloud for 4 months now and it has become absolutely essential to me, replacing Dropbox, Google Docs, Google Drive and WeTransfer. But it has so many more capabilities too!
I'm excited to do a show & tell.

Je regarde un peu par là https://community.torproject.org/fr/relay/ et je vois qu'il ne faut pas faire de relais de sortie depuis chez soi, mais à part ça, y'a des trucs importants à savoir ?

manquerait juste le coté auto-hébergement. Une ptite raspberry pi sur sa box est un gage de liberté supplémentaire.
Une gestion par Yunohost n'est pas très complexe et permet de n'avoir à payer que le nom de domaine (et encore on peut n'etre qu'un sous-domaine de copaine
enfin tu sais bien ;-)

Progress update no.3 (perseverance edition) 💪
Several people suggested that I install #YunoHost on my Raspi5 ON TOP of Debian (thank you @jan and @fmors) so I will be trying that tomorrow morning... when my parents are looking after my little one (who's on a 2 week school holiday).
This morning I gave up a little too easily because she was playing nearby and my attention was a little scattered.
But excited to try out this method tomorrow. Thank you Jan & Fernando 🙏

Geplant:
- Friendica und GoToSocial für drei bis vier Nutzende
- ausreichende Reserve für testweise installierte weitere Dienste
Momentan tendiere ich zum #Netcup 1000 oder 2000 G11.
Eine Hetzner StorageBox wäre zusätzlich denkbar, um Speicherplatz per S3 auszulagern.

Progress update no.2 (humble pie edition) 🥧
So I successfully installed #YunoHost on my #RaspberryPi5 but I could not get to see the graphical interface... I only managed to run commands in Terminal, sigh. Typing the address in a browser just brought up a blank page.
I remembered how easy it was to install YunoHost on my VPS back in December.
I have an unused OVH VPS whose subscription will expire in February. So I reinstalled the OS (switching from Ubuntu to Debian) because YunoHost runs on Debian. I tried installing YunoHost on there and the whole process was so seamless and easy. 5 minutes tops. And I got to their beautiful graphical interface without any problems.
The whole purpose of this exercise is to showcase to "normies" what self-hosting is like with YunoHost. I had my dose of humble pie today because even if installing it on a Raspi is quick and easy, it's still a daunting task for someone who is not a developer IMHO.
Conversely, installing it on a VPS is so seamless, quick and easy.
I have documented the whole thing for my write-up.
Personally I don't like to give up easily, so I will definitely re-try with the Raspberry Pi. But in good conscience I cannot recommend this method for someone who's not advanced... if it makes sense?
Like, if I were to tell my cousin or my friends about it, I'd encourage them to get a VPS instead.
Anyhow, tomorrow is another day and I will re-try from the start.
But now: I have a fresh installation of YunoHost running on my other VPS and I'm so tempted to install #Sharkey, LOL.
