Tutaj dodam, że Matrix z apkami Element jest bardzo intuicyjny i przyjazny. Anglicy zainwestowali sporo w UI i UX.
Ponieważ istnieje wiele klientów Matrix, gdy mówimy "matrix jest be" to tak jakbyśmy powiedzieli "http jest be". Często opisuje się wrażenia z używania danego klienta a nie podaje nazwy.
Ja korzystam z Element-ów w przeglądarce, Androidzie i iOs i to naprawdę dopracowane produkty.
Btw, jak padał matrix od polsocial, to jego pokoje, sfederowane, działały nadal. I można było wymieniać informacje. To ogromna przewaga nad Signalem - nie ma jednego centralnego punktu, który - gdy padnie, to wszystko leży.
Matrix nie ma tzw. "single point of failure". Ma zdecentralizowaną architekturę. Zaś Signal, no cóż, jak padnie to leży CAŁY :)
Btw, rzućcie też okiem na "Europejskiego Signala", czyli Wire. Korzystam jako backup i do kontaktu z osobami, które go używają. Również jest zdecentralizowany, choć bardziej "komercyjny".

@gharbeia I also recommend #DeltaChat instead of #matrix for private communications with friends and family, it is much more user-friendly and painless to configure (literally, just set a name and avatar) and has great multi-profile and multi-device support
but if you need it for public rooms, then you have to stick with matrix or #xmpp

@_elena I don't think #matrix ia good for family and friends, I recommend #DeltaChat for that use case, it is much more user-friendly and simple for family and friends, registration is painless, just set a name and avatar, no private information needed, no passwords, no captcha, no SMS codes, etc.
and has good multi-device multi-profile support

@root42 @synlogic4242 It was a deliberate choice of Signal not to allow federation. It was even possible to join multiple servers at some point. We do have nice alternatives with #xmpp and #matrix though.
