@33dBm Nicht vergessen die E2E-Schlüssel zu sichern, die sind separat vom Login-Passwort. Ohne diese droht die ''unable to decrypt" Fehlermeldung, die mittlerweile zum Meme geworden ist. #Matrix weist beim Einrichten darauf hin, das scheinen aber viele zu überlesen/ignorieren.

Die Lizenz für den Threema-Server ist laut Wikipedia proprietär:

Ergänzung: Auch der Signal-Server ist nicht durchgängig quelloffen.
Übrigens sind beide Systeme, zweites Manko, zentralisiert, also leichter angreifbar.
Komplett quelloffen und FOSS sind DeltaChat und Matrix, DeltaChat zudem vorbildlich dezentral aufgestellt. Bei Matrix ist die Dezentralität zwar optional, aber nicht wirklich gelebt - wie bei Mastodon erschlägt auch bei Matrix der Flagship-Server den Rest.

Naja, immerhin war der Tag dann nach der Mittagspause doch noch ein wenig produktiver geworden als ich ursprünglich dachte... manchmal fehlen wohl einfach Kohlenhydrate 😃
Parallel habe ich die Mittagspause dann auch gleich genutzt um mal einen eigenen #matrix Homeserver mit #Conduit aufzusetzen. Verglichen mit den anderen Matrix Servern die ich mir so angesehen habe war das wirklich erfreulich unkompliziert.

- déploiement de nos notes de la campagne de JdR sur mon serveur avec #quartz, (merci @joachim pour la reco)
- découverte d'#IPFS, pure magie du p2p du futur, j'ai pas tout compris mais woaw
- un test avec @rfnix pour voir à quel point c'est facile de déployer une instance #matrix + un bridge Discord pour sortir tout gentiment de Discord. Au passage, merci @lacontrevoie pour le tuto !

They're gonna tell you the #forkiverse is a community but if you really want that, start a #matrix server.
Every fedi server is less a place than a portal to a shared space nobody controls and whose culture is only what most of the people hanging out there decide. Your choice of portal is mostly about the protection spell you want cast upon you as you walk through. The moderation rules and enforcement processes that somewhat filter what you're able to see. But no algos will assault you here.
