Start fading out WhatsApp. Before doing anything, BACKUP ALL YOUR CHATS !!!
1. Convert account to a WhatsApp Business. This is necessary if you opt for a landline.
2. Get a PAYG sim card, or a VOIP landline number
3. Change number from settings. With new SIM it will be instant confirmation by SMS. For landline, wait 1 hour and receive code by phone call.
4. Setup autoreply with new chats links (#Signal, #matrix, Deltachat, etc)

The Ubuntu #Matrix upgrade of the #Ubuntu UK Community Matrix room seems to have decimated the membership of the room. Once almost 50 members now down to 10. Hopefully the old members will move to the new room. Or new people will join. The upgrade feels like a set back on what we as a community are trying to do.
