I have to ask something about #Mastodon that no one else seems to have brought up in all this time so I'm legitimately beginning to wonder.
Am I the only one having trouble with the fact that I cannot safely view or clear notifications without losing my place in the timeline randomly? If I click (or tap when on mobile) notifications, when I go back there is a completely randomized chance that it will jump me back to the top of the page and lose my place, forcing me to have to find it again via either very very fast searching of exactly the right search terms (before things start unloading and breaking even the search) or hit end which goes past where I actually was then scroll back with some stuff changed.
I had assumed this was a known thing, but no one else has mentioned it.

The term "for-profit social media".
It does two things: It highlights that a social media user is a resource being exploited, and implies that non-profit social media exists.

Well this is annoying. I don’t care if the original poster approves this or not. I’m just linking,* which is what we all did on #Mastodon before these “quote posts” became their obsession. And I’ve been here since 2017.
Don’t waste people’s times, we have already set our accounts to allow quote posts or not.
* You know, how the World Wide Web basically works.

引用機能がない環境だとリンクの挿入という形での引用もできたけど、自サーバーが #Mastodon 
の新しい引用に対応してるバージョンだったりすると、ちゃんと UI に組み込まれた引用として表示・操作できる。
