Our #Mastodon instance has been migrated to version 4.5.0. This is a big step for the platform! "Quoting" is now available if a post author allows them. To quote, you click on the "Boost" icon and are presented with two options: Boost or Quote. Have fun, and quote responsibly!
Authors can set their "being quoted by others" preferences in the Settings area. If you don't want people to quote you, or only followers to do so, go set that now!

個人的に引用はたまにしか使わないので。設定で引用を「別途3点メニューから」に切り替えれるのは嬉しい。
ただ Twitter が引用RTを採用してから、どんどん体験が悪くなった印象があるので。今回の #Mastodon の引用追加も少し懸念してる。😅
一番イヤだったのが通知だけど。Mastodon も通知されるんだっけ？それを選べると良いんだけど。

昨晩 #VivaldiSocial の #Mastodon が4.5にアップデートされ。Twitterの引用RTと同じような機能が追加されましたが。「どうしても以前みたいにタップ（or クリック）しただけで、すぐにブーストできるようにしたい」と言う方は、外観設定の「ブーストの設定」で『クイックブーストの有効化』にチェックを入れると、以前のようなタップするだけでブーストできます！ 
ちなみにPCの場合は上記の設定項目のチェックが入ってなくても、Shift キーを押しながらブーストボタンをクリックすると、すぐにブーストできるそうです。（Tipsより）

Random thought but I see it often...
I see a lot of passionate hatred here on the #mastodon regarding the Trending function. And I'm genuinely confused by it.
I choose who I follow. I choose who influences my feed. Having a short list of "here's what popular in your circles" is pretty nice for me.
I don't see this as an "algorithm" in the way that people talk about Twitter or Facebook. It's just literally what is popular, without shady ulterior motives.
(pedantic spoiler: literally everything is an algorithm, even a blank list)
