I have been working on an index system for stuff in my game, spent alot of time to make it effective and quick, got it working pretty nicely! Then I reflected on it and just realised I just made a bloody database.XD If I from the get go thought about that part from the experience of web development, I would have saved so much time! #gamedev #godot

cheapskate had a brief pipeline with Blender via plugins for Blender and Godot but I just tossed it. I'll be updating the game project repo and asset creation project repo with the removal. No more Blender support (gen-x here, I walk the mother fucking walk).

Shipped my Material 3 UI Kit for Godot 4 .NET. Built it for my own project, polished it up, and figured it was worth releasing.

Scene-first: drop the components into your scenes, configure them in the inspector, theme everything through one resource. 40+ component scenes, automatic light/dark theming, drag-and-drop, tooltips, 5 demo scenes.

New annoyaince: when you use AStarGrid2D to calculate a path from tile A to an adjacent tile B, it returns an empty array.

When you use AStarGrid2D to calculate a path between two tiles that are not connected by a valid route (e.g. because one point is surrounded by impassable terrain), it ALSO returns an empty array

NOKOMA's Arcade mode is just scratching the surface. With Puzzle mode, no luck: you'll have to master the rules. Both modes will play together in a secret community mode. Won't tell much for now but very excited to show more.

Hmmm... struggling to seamlessly pass variables in and out of Dialogic timelines.
I need my conversations to know about certain data, but don't really want to be passing loads of variables in and out, if I can avoid it.
Has anyone got experience of this kind of stuff?

Small Godot rant:

Spend 3 days rigging and animating a complex 2d character with IK and whatnot just too find out that 1. godot uses the same IK target nodes of a random scene instance when multiple instances of the same chatacter are in a scene. And I can't scale my character to -1 along x to "flip" it's direction. The IK targets will simply not flip with it. I guess I'll be reanimating everything in blender again and render to sprite animations.
