looks like road to #vostok was written with #godot which means it's a lot like #redlight (which I think was written in #redot)

that means there's .tres files laying about that I can edit because I'm a FILTHY CHEATER.

Downsized my tileset from 24x24 to 16x16 and redrew everything. I'm a little happier with this version and I also worked out fog of war.

I plan to flesh out the combat next and get some loot to pick up, which will take me to the inventory/equipment screens.

While the game will share some traditional roguelike mechanics, I plan to make this more of an RPG with a crafted world. No procgen stuff or one life runs.

Progress: Shop Scene can be added to TownScence. Export "type", which is shown above door. Area3d notices Player and... nothing yet! Probably "Press 'E' to Interact", and show a Buy screen.
This will need an Inventory system. How complex? Yes! Might re-use DevLogLogan's version.
Two things: What items to include, and how to Code them.
I'm thinking "Victoriana Ghostpunk" (Blades in the Dark)

been a bit since i've posted. recently, i've been poking at #indiedev on a game again. but instead of using unity or even #godot, i'm trying love and #lua.

most of my time has been spend on boilerplate code and building a framework, and it's been strangely refreshing.

I'm getting used to lua and can see why people reach for it.

More Godot advice needed for Game_That_is_Like_Rogue:
How to store Data?
Unchanging lists to call from, such as Room Types, Loot Tables, Monsters, etc.
Global DataManager, holding Resources, that LootMaker and MonsterMaker etc can call on?
