After that I decided to have another go at making #Snailriders into a prototype digital boardgame, which turned out to be really complex actually. Still very rough though. I'm particularly proud of the tile system that I created, which I think became quite an elegant system using dictionaries to store tilegrid coordinates, turned into global coordinates and where the players position is iterated through to know the properties of the current tile and its surrounding tiles.

I thought I couldn't really be good at programming because I'm very bad at maths, but this turned out to be false. Being good at logic is really what's needed for learning programming. Turns out, I really really enjoy programming! So my next project was understanding inventory systems. I build a drag and drop inventory system that I could reuse in other projects, and learned so much about arrays and dictionaries by doing so!

I dabled in Godot before for a couple of years ago, but didn't really got the nack for it back then. But my son really wanted to learn a bit about game design so I decided we should pick it up together. I found this tutorial series: Playable Workshop, and got so inspired by it that I didn't want to wait on the next one and just started learning from there. Here is a video of that project, the game character, the world and the sounds are assets from the tutorial series.

Butterflies just fluttered into my goose word game!
Small touch, but their gentle movement adds such a calm effect. 😌

Hi everyone,
It's been a very long time since I've been active over here. So I thought I owed you some life signs. It has just been a lot with kids starting at school, working on the house, looking for work, etc. Artistically speaking I've still been active, but mostly in another way... Because last summer I decided to finally take my passion for game design seriously after being inspired by Playable Workshop. I'm going to describe that journey a bit in this thread:

I have now fully translated #squinky into German. I am currently working together with other people to create a simplified chinese version.
Btw. Godot makes this so easy 😃

Is this a feature or something to fix... whenever the mission specs change and the planet needs to be redrawn, it uses different tiles.

Hi !!
I need some help to check if my auto scale feature works for my Godot Tween Guide.
If you have a minute :
Go on qaqelol.itch.io/test and run the test guide (password is uwu)
Take a screenshot, send it back to me, and tell me if it looked too big or too small + what device/OS you are using
Sort of a question for @neauoire but also for other Orca users/modders: Would it be relatively easy to have Orca embedded in a game (godot engine) and respond to events to create dynamic bgm? For synthesis, I'm looking at Godot-CSound and Godot Synth Engine.
I'm thinking it'd be fun for players to be able to hit the tilde key and see the music being generated live and even mess around with it.
Possible obstacles I foresee include Orca's willingness to toggle between having and not having display/input authority. Also not sure if there'd be a standard way for Orca to accept the events.
