Something that I liked about old Twitter, and something that I like about @pitha, is that it gives off the vibe of belonging right when I see the UI - because it's familiar, and because it's ACTUALLY good design.
Bluesky made me feel exactly this, and yet, I have found my home and solace over at Mastodon, and you might wonder why.
Well, plenty of reasons.

I have been super busy with my core business that puts food on the table so I wasn't very active here. but today I see a Bluesky hashtag trending and I got no clue what's going on with that BS. @jd7h I believe OFFICIALLY they're just called "posts", but there's been some traction calling them "skeets". I'd probably just stick to "posts", but I'm old and boring.
As to "retweeting" Bluesky posts, you can in theory just link to the post, but there's varying degrees of trust when it comes to #Bluesky here on Mastodon. It's not Twitter or anything, but still... I'd probably stick to screenshotting the post and post a picture of it here if you want to share. YYMV.

Bluesky's Official Responses Regarding the System Outage
Yesterday Bluesky posted that the outage was cause by a "sophisticated Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack", and promised an update by the end of the day. Yesterday's end of day update was simply that the would provide an update by this morning. This morning they posted an update that they would provide an update by the end of the day. Now they have posted that they will provide an update by Monday morning.
