It's just that I'm old and I've seen this in politics. There's always a group with money who says we're not like the bad guys with more money. And they always tell the frustrated people who have been working in the public interest forever, that maybe we're doing things differently and it looks like we're delaying things, but we're on your side. We're being realistic. We're obviously better than the bad guys. Work with us. Complaining only helps the bad guys. And this goes on forever.

Will share this thread here too. These are the official statements from Bluesky PDC so far. Note they have repeatedly confirmed that the cause was a sophisticated DDoS attack, but provided no more detail. The next 'update' is promised before Monday.
Hopefully it will address the issues you raised above and provide some evidence for the DDoS claim.

That is a post from April 10, that is about a less severe Bluesky outage that happened on April 6.
Have not seen any similar analysis of the major outage that began on April 15.
It is interesting that he uses the term 'DDoSed themselves'.
We are still waiting for any details concerning the April 15 outage. Bluesky has repeatedly promise an update, only to further delay any notice. The latest post promises an update by Monday morning.
