Durch Basteleien mit dem #Raspberrypi und Rumdaddeln mit diversen #retrogaming #Handheld Konsolen habe ich einen (denke ich) überdurchschnittlich hohen Bedarf an 64GB #MicroSD Karten.
Ich hatte die preislich je nach Fabrikat immer so mit 9-15€ im Kopf verbucht. Jetzt musste ich mir über das Wochenende ein paar neue bestellen, für 30€! Das sind 60 Mark, oder 120 Ostmark! 1200 auf dem Schwarzmarkt!

Since an update to #android 16 on my #fairphone gen. 6, #fedilab is incredibly slow with loading. All those troubleshooting tips from https://forum.fairphone.com/t/dns-over-tls-issues-apps-dont-load-data/130519/19 that helped with *other* apps, didn't solve the problem of fedilab.
And what is more: #tusky runs flawlessly (so it is a problem neither of connection nor of the #mastodon instance).
Anyone with similar experiences?

When it comes to VR, a lot of the initial hype was about how VR was going to kill regular gaming.
And even as the technology improved, the hype began to settle down. Clearly it was never going to overtake traditional gaming. It's too different.
However, VR wasn't all hype -- it can be quite fun and engaging when done right. And since then, it's enjoyed it's own little corner of the gaming world.
It didn't take over, but it occupies a happy niche in the gaming world, successfully, for the right kind of experiences.
VR may not have overtaken traditional video games, but it thrives at a modest scale, as it's own distinct 'thing'.
With that strained analogy in mind, I don't think it's a failure for #Mastodon to not overtake or even match the former success of Twitter. The conditions that led to Twitter's success are drastically different today, than they were at the time. Chasing that success may prove futile and maddening even with the best of efforts.
I'm not suggesting not trying, of course, but it's perfectly fine for the Masto experience to be a smaller, cozier one.
(Why did I write this? A response to something I saw, but then realized I didn't really address what the post was about, so fuck it: spontaneous Masto love post.)

As someone who loves #Mastodon with a special part of my heart, I think we all want journalism here but humans don't do much of that anymore. I do think many people use this as a refuge from a world where clicks and views are vastly more important than facts and sources.

Actually, @lauren, Trump is a long way back from the front of the queue to hell.
Trump didnt create the nukes, the bombers, the missiles, or any of the rest of the horrors that the #USA's imperialist military threatens Iran with. Americans repeatedly vote for creating such horrors and for serving the imperial army.
Trump is just the current evil driver. But without the evil machine America made for 250 years, Trump would just be a sweary oaf.

There's "communities" for nearly everything on the #Fediverse. It is a strange misconception that a server software like Mastodon was something like a centralized #server #instance that was required to "allow" for anything, or could "prohibit" it, for everybody.
On the Fediverse, your server instance can allow or prohibit anything, just like any other instance. When your topic is hated on most other instances, there might be good reasons for that, though.
Still you can even run your very own instance fully dedicated to ShittyTopic™. It's just that nobody is obliged to listen to you, or to say friendly things about it, or to never block your instance.

J’ai reçu un commentaire d’un homme portant une écharpe autour du cou et l’indignation tatouée sur son clavier. J’ai alors réalisé, avec la même surprise que lorsqu’on découvre sa nudité, que des gens lisent réellement ce que j’écris. Je devrais être plus prudent, mais savez-vous qui devrait l’être aussi ? Israël.
Les pays sont le produit de l’histoire, les erreurs ont des conséquences et Israël a commis trop d’erreurs :
1- Retrait unilatéral de Gaza, laissant la zone devenir le paradis du terrorisme mondial.
2- Autorisation d’envoyer des milliards de dollars qataris à Gaza, où ils ont servi à construire des tunnels et à acheter des armes.
3- Autorisation donnée aux Gazaouis de travailler en Israël et de fournir des informations au Hamas.
4- Des Arabes annonçaient depuis des années qu’ils commettraient exactement ce qu’ils ont fait le 7 octobre. Il existe même des films arabes reprenant le même scénario, ce qui montre que le génocide antisémite fait partie des aspirations arabo-musulmanes actuelles.
Ma mémoire me fait défaut, mais je me souviens que dans les années 90, les Juifs souhaitaient une solution à deux États. Heureusement que les Arabes ont refusé ; sinon, le 7 octobre aurait eu lieu non seulement à Gaza, mais aussi en Cisjordanie. La vérité, aussi dérangeante soit-elle, est que l’identité arabe rejettera toujours un État juif et, dans ces conditions, la seule façon d’exister est d’occuper ces territoires indéfiniment (ce qui est désastreux pour l’image de l’entreprise). Si Israël ne tire pas les leçons de cette situation, il fera face à des attaques de plus en plus fréquentes de la part d’ennemis qui se cachent derrière des voiles, et il ne s’agira pas de simples commentaires sur Internet.
