The harms of #socialMedia are not due to use age. They’re due to engagement maximizing algorithms, inadequate moderation, and unvetted advertising. #AgeVerification (read: Internet ID laws) is a red herring, a boon to #surveillanceCapitalism, and a hindrance to #competition.
I like to allow accidents to happen, not to force them, and yet not let myself feel miserable if they do happen, because they are so often the best things.
