pathlib.Path's open method is a relic from an earlier version of pathlib that wasn't yet fully embraced by Python's various path-handling features.

There's an open source social media platform called "Hey.cafe" which has been developed in Canada. I don't think it's part of the Fediverse. No algorithms, no billionaires (yet...) My local computer club (Durham Personal Computer Users Club) has set up a "cafe" there - sort of like a Facebook group.

Imagine in what kind of "great atmosphere" the negotiations between the US and Iran will take place. The US attacked during earlier negotiations, killed several levels of Iranian leadership, their family etc... Two weeks will not be enough to accomplish anything meaningful I think 🤔 without even mentioning the fact that there is disagreement about how Lebanon is part of the current ceasefire.
