Fakt ist wohl: hätte Mastodon nicht alle Leute auf die eigene Instanz gelotst, sondern einen Weg geebnet, damit Leute sich auf Instanzen anmelden können, die ihren Interessen oder örtlichen Gegebenheiten entsprechen, gäbe es gar kein Problem. Die Instanz wäre das „Starter Pack“, besonders die lokale Timeline. Das ist ganz anders als bei Bluesky, wo es keine lnstanzen mit Schwerpunkten gibt. Deshalb sind dort Starterpacks sinnvoll. Das Problem ließe sich lösen, wenn Mastodon endlich aufhören würde, den Platzhirsch zu spielen.

In case anybody is confused about what is going on with todon.nl and todon.eu:
- About a week ago, a fairly new todon.nl user jumped over from BlueSky to harass a trans woman on fedi.
- That harassment is based on a lot of very niche queer politics from Tumblr.
- This harassment has escalated into at least five sock puppet accounts, with the todon.nl user making at least five fake accounts to dodge blocks.
- Todon.nl has taken no actions to stop this harassment.

Xitter even went as far as automatically reducing my number of followers. they just wouldn’t allow my numbers to go beyond 30K. and it’s bullshit they were fighting bots. the majority of the followers of their “partner” celebrities are bots.
this, btw, is yet another reason marketers hate the #fediverse: tis much harder to fake followers. they need some activity to be visible here; not so there.
