My iPad felt like it truly came alive last night for the first time, as I browsed my non-walled-garden content over on my #RaspberryPi through #copyparty. For a brief, joyous moment, my #iPad I didn't feel like this dorky, impotent, fisher price children's toy, which left me feeling patronized.
I've learned the hard way, that these sorts of elated too-good-to-be-true feelings come right before some sort of complication, disappointment, or other such bug in the system.
Neither #Firefox nor #Safari would play my .webm content, if the video codec was #AV1. VP9 content would play! I have #iPadOS 18.5, btw. And Firefox is right up to date.
I was just about to jump for joy, that I no longer needed Samba/SMB over on the Raspberry Pi to browse this content (from iPadOS' "Files" app, which can connect to #SMB shares, then open the videos in #VLC). I guess it's too early to get rid of #Samba just yet!

「抜粋の文字数はデフォルトで55単語、日本語などのマルチバイト文字では110文字」ということらしい。
それでは短すぎると思うので、長くした。コードには150と書いたけれど、日本語だと300になってくれるのではないかと期待。省略文字も、ちょうど良い所で区切れていると続きがあることが分からないかもしれないので［…続きを読む］に変更して、その文字に記事へのリンクを張った。ただ、これが正常に機能するかは不明。だからテスト。
ここまでの文字数はURLの文字数を考慮すると300は超えているはず。

In the wake of countries passing legislation to prevent minors from accessing the web freely the Matrix.org home server is banning all everyone under 18 years from using their home serven starting August 7: https://matrix.org/legal/terms-and-conditions/
Can't wait for them to implement some flawed age verification too. Seeing as the Matrix Foundation is based in the UK this isn't too far fetched imo. Time to finally look into self-hosting a home server I guess but most people will not have that privilege, especially if they aren't old enough to buy their own servers or services. :S
Kinda sucks how the free web is dying. Without it being available when I was a kid I definitely wouldn't be where I am today. I feel like we should not let such an important resource as the internet die this way just because parents can't do their job in raising their kids...

After I implemented "entities dropping loot" I noticed that the "total draw calls" were nearly as high as the "total objects drawn". (3000 calls for 3000 objects)
After some experimentation I found the problem. Mixing Polygon2D and Sprite2D prevented #godot 4.5b4 from batching either.
I tested it with and without "y sorting" and manual setting of the "z index".
After removing the polygon shadow and baking it into the texture the draw calls are at ~30 for ~3000 objects.

Huts and Workers have separate inventories
Where should I store the "recipe" for what to make? The hut, or the Worker?
Currently, they are Set (a Blacksmith makes Tools from Iron and Coal, a Baker makes Meals from Food and Coal), but I'll be expanding, and allowing for options
Workers are fixed to their hut, so I'm not sure it matters, unless I introduce changing Workers (lack of people, re-assigning, etc), so maybe on the Hut?
