Tested #ChatGPT's new #Agent mode. I asked for a train for next Sunday from Brussels to Antwerp with arrival in Antwerp around 11am. After 10 minutes I got a reply and was recommended a Eurostar. Using SNCB's app, it takes me 1 minute myself to find a normal train arriving in Antwerp at 11.06am.

Normally, they only seem to block video games that use a ton of data like Honkai Star Rail or site that can circumvent the blocks, like tor.org or mullvad.net. Incidentally, I used Tor to confirm this.
Why it's blocked is an interesting question, and not one I can answer unless I feel bold enough to question IT about it. Which I don't.
What is interesting though is that I can view the posts that are federated no problem. For example:

He hecho muchas cosas con WordPress pero no he navegado tan profundo como para conocer las opciones cargadas automáticamente. Como siempre, me entero ya cuando el barco hace aguas, pero ahorita lo resolvemos.
Introducción
Las opciones cargadas automáticamente, según Kinsta, son configuraciones que guardan temas y plugins para que se carguen cuando sea oportuno. Aunque por lo general, no se toman la molestia de establecer si es realmente necesario que se carguen automáticamente puesto que esa es la opción elegida por defecto.

¿Cuánto es demasiado de datos de autocarga? Esto puede variar, por supuesto, pero idealmente, usted quiere estar entre 300 KB y 1 MB. Una vez que empiece a acercarse al rango 3-5 MB o más, los datos deberían ser optimizados o eliminados de ser autocargados. Y algo superior a 10 MB debería ser abordado de inmediato. Esto no siempre significa que va a causar un problema, pero es un buen lugar para comenzar.
en mi caso, mi sitio tiene 991 opciones precargadas (un montón) y un tamaño de 805kb(una miseria XD) por lo que realmente no debería ser un problema para mi, pero ya que esto ha llamado mi atención, voy a aprender como funciona y si es que mejora en algo mi experiencia.
Aplicando las soluciones
Realmente no tengo mucho que aportar puesto que el blog de kinsta ya ofrece muy buenas y detalladas soluciones (espero que mientras persista mi blog, estas no se pierdan) así que solo iré siguiendo los pasos que ofrecen en el blog.
La tabla wp_options
La tabla wp_options se utiliza en wordpress para almacenar de todo. Configuraciones del sitio, configuraciones de plugins, de temas, datos de cache, etc. WordPress no es la obra de arte en optimización, pero esto es justamente lo que le da la flexibilidad que le ha hecho perdurar hasta nuestros días. Muchos plugins se toman la molestia de recordar los datos que escriben para que al desinstalarlos, se eliminen con ellos, pero recuerda que no es la norma. Los plugins escriben datos en la base de datos, pero luego, al desinstalar, esos datos se quedan alli. Tenlo en cuenta cuando experimentes con plugins constantemente, que es mi caso.
Para obtener el uso de los datos en la tabla wp_options, use este comando y obtuve este resultado

También me llama la atención de que no tengo los mismos o similares resultados que en el ejemplo de kinsta. mesmerize_companion_filtered_defaults
Analizando y resolviendo
El proceso a partir de aquí es muy artesanal. Hay que ir revisando campo a campo y borrando lo que ya no este en uso.
estas cosas son las que encontré en mi caso:
- xyz_fbap_application_id Probabemente perteneciente al plugin WP2Social Auto Publish. No lo uso hace años. (26 lineas)
- mesmerize_companion_filtered_defaults Tal vez de un tema llamado Mesmerize. (4 lineas)
- dlm_default_template Probablemente del plugin Download Manager. Actualmente uso enlaces de mi instancia de Nextcloud. (33 lineas)
- woocommerce_checkout_pay_endpoint Del plugin Woocommerce. Ya he de instalarlo de nuevo o buscar nuevas alternativas. (108 lineas)
- wpforo_version Del Plugin wpforo. Aun quiero un foro, pero necesito gente =_= (20 lineas)
- cmplz_last_cookie_scan Un plugin para cumplir la ley de cookies de europa. No soy europeo. tampoco es que me visite mucha gente y tampoco tengo servicios (todavia) investigare luego como funciona eso (23 lineas)
- rsssl_activated_plugin Plugin para instalar certificados SSL. Comence con un hosting que no ofrecia SSL ni me dejaba instalarlo. Ahora los firmo por mi cuenta con Lets Encrypt (6 lineas)
- exactmetrics_tracking_notice exactmetrics_tracking_notice. Un plugin de metricas (11 lineas)
- elementor_active_kit. Del Plugin Elementor (4 lineas)
Resultados
La verdad, no hubo un cambio significativo. tal vez milisegundos. Probare luego con el sitio recogiendofrutos.interlan.ec que es mucho mas viejo que este blog y ha sido remigrado algunas veces (una de esas, tras una infección culpa de mi anterior hosting), pero es muy obvio que aunque es una tarea necesaria, solo se notan sus resultados en casos extremos.
Por cierto, estaba tratando de indagar cuando comencé este blog. La primera entrada según mi propio blog, el análisis de mi primera impresora 3D, indica que es del 22 de mayo del 2020, mientras que la wayback machine, tiene capturas desde el 26 de septiembre del 2015, lo cual es una diferencia enorme. Whois no me responde hasta el momento de publicación, así que seguiré con la duda de cuando cumple años este blog.

It has been 1 year since I participated in a Hackathon. Didn't win, wasn't even close, but it was an amazing experience despite (or because?) it was all packed into 24hrs.
I learnt a lot, the main thing being command line interactions with GitHub using Git Bash.
1 year on and I am a convert. I don't think I know more than 8 Git commands, but it has totally changed how I manage my code!

Had a weird DNS bug today, the most annoying one so far. Pymongo 13 with the asynchronous client could not connect to the mongodb database. This was only when it was running inside a Kubernetes pod and it also messed up the pods dns, making connections to Kafka, rabbit and other services fail.

Dann holt auch mal schnell die neue versjon, da ist eine kleine sicherheitsschwankung drin und das wird gerade massenhaft und automatisiert angegriffen. Da kann jeder dahergelaufene hansel aus dem internetz nach herzenslust dateien hochladen. Also auch PHP-skripten, die dann mit den rechten des websörvers ausgeführt werden können. Zum beispiel, um eure datenbank — die wp-config.php muss ja mit den rechten des websörvers lesbar sein, sonst geht gar nix, und da stehen die zugangsdaten drin — mit spämm und schadsoftwäjhr zu fluten, die dann als eure texte und eure daunlohds erscheinen. Oder um ein benutzerkonto mit adminrechten anzulegen. Oder um kleine phishing- und betrugsseiten im stil anderer webseits auf eurem sörver abzulegen, die dann in spämms verlinkt werden. Oder, oder, oder. Den kriminellen wird schon eine nutzungsform einfallen, die euch nicht gefällt und zum ziel polizeilicher ermittlungen macht, und die datenbank nehmen die cräcker sowieso mit, man weiß ja nie…
Also holt euch schnell die aktualisierte versjon! Die entwickler sagen, dass das problem gefixt sei. Und wenns euch schon erwischt haben sollte, spielt mal eine datensicherung von vor dem angriff zurück. Und wenn ihr keine habt… ach! Dann fangt ihr halt von vorne an.

Ancient Stone Tablets is a fascinating experience, it's a truncated version of A Link to the Past, spread out across 4 chapters, released on a weekly basis.
Each week has a time limit, of about 50 minutes or so, during that time, things will happen based on that timer. You will gain infinite bombs, or your boomerang will be more powerful, or you'll gain sword beams for a limited time.
Certain NPCs only become available after an amount of time has passed and it is just such a curiousity.
It's not as challenging as A Link to the Past, but also some puzzles require things that aren't done that much in the original game.
If you enjoy A Link to the Past, I think this is probably worth checking out. It's a fun little experience!

What my AI fiction writing experiment taught me about my creative process
In my last post, I wrote about my experiment using AI to write fiction.
The whole exercise was born out of curiosity and frustration. The story, Forever, at last, was just one of many that I could not finish, but it refused to leave me, literally haunting me when I try to sleep.
What I discovered
This experiment has made me realise a few things about my creative writing process:
Reading a story generated by AI, even it I had written the story beats and dialogue, was unsatisfying to read.
I enjoy writing a large part of my fiction, like 90%. Taking that away from me would make writing fiction a truly passion-less and boring exercise.
I am far too territorial with my writing to use AI copy wholesale.
I have a Hemmingway-ish style of writing, thin on description, minimalist and economical. And there’s nothing wrong with that. (I ended up cutting away a lot of the content AI generated.)
Most of the enjoyment I have when writing fiction comes from writing the dialogue. In fact, I think I am more of a scriptwriter by nature than a prose writer.
Understanding my process
I have come to the conclusion based on my experiment with fiction is that I need to write the dialogue (which I enjoy), detailed storybeats with a light description of the scene (which I don’t enjoy) before even using AI.
I will then dialogue with AI to find ways to improve my description which I am weak at.
I seem to love chatting with the AI on how I can improve the existing descriptions or the descriptions it generated. The act of learning is very enjoyable to me.
I do not judge anyone who wants to generate first drafts and rewrite them – some people are satisfied with just rewriting, but I realize I want a lot more ownership, and that I need to vividly visualise the scene and create the dialogue. That is the only way I can use AI without sacrificing my enjoyment of writing fiction.
However, I don’t mind asking AI for help in improving my sparse descriptions of settings.
Understanding what parts of the writing process I like or don’t like
What I love:
- Imagining and visualising the scenes vividly in my head, and then writing the storybeats
- Writing dialogue (I’m especially territorial about this!)
- Creating character arcs (This is my second most territorial thing)
- Creating the entire plot
- Learning how to improve my fiction prose writing
What I don’t enjoy:
- Writing detailed outlines
- Writing descriptions of characters, settings and action scenes (only because I take too long thinking how to do them. I have a feeling once I master this, I’d enjoy it too.)
- Creating story bibles
- Proofreading
- General admin work related to creating the ebook and uploading it to websites
- Marketing the damn book
To me, writing fiction is all about the craft – writing sentences that convey emotion, story flow, character arcs …
I have very little interest in marketing the book or even distributing it for others to read. I have a very interesting approach to my creations. Once I create a novel or piece a fiction, I tend to forget about them and move on to the next. I don’t check up on them, read the reviews, or see how they perform. To me, the piece of art is done, and it’s time to create another.
So, it’s no wonder that I find the latter half of the process incredibly tedious and unfun.
Outsourcing what you don’t enjoy
Here’s what I tell authors: Identify your pain points — the parts of the process that are most annoying and aggravating. Then let AI handle the majority of the work in those areas. – SJ Pajonas, “The Joy Factor: How to Use AI Without Losing What You Love About Writing”
“AI-positive” indie writer SJ Pajonas wrote in her Substack recently that we need to find the parts of our writing process that we loved, and the parts where we didn’t. The parts that we don’t, we can outsource to AI.
It was an intriguing idea. So, I’ll be exploring this idea in the next post.
