Hey #Godot smartpants out there, how do I get the point of contact between 2 area3D nodes?
I'm using the area_shape_entered signal to get the entered area's space direct state and then create a query with the entering area's shape but it's returning an empty array of collisions.
This shouldn't be that difficult, right? RIGHT???

Something seems broken with #ESPHome today. I'm not sure since when this is an issue, but every type of console (for compiling, validating, viewing logs) is just a black hole. Looking into the logs of the container it says /validate, /run and /clean are not found, though only as Warnings.
I'm using the #docker version of ESPHome since #HomeAssistant decided to no longer support the supervised installation.
I wanted to update one of my boards, but that no longer seems possible.
The reason to use ESPHome for me was, that it was comfortable and integrated well with HomeAssistant and often times "just worked", but now with a worse integration due to not running the full HAOS and it just plain not working at all, I am considering switching back to a self-made solution.
If anyone of you has an idea what the problem could be please let me know.
Note:
I've read in GitHub Issues that it could be Firefox related, if you want me to try chrome, I'll not. That would be a reason to do it myself again.

Всем, привет, меня зовут Дмитрий, я React-разработчик, и я снова здесь и попробую сегодня рассказать про Web Workers. Если вы хоть раз пробовали обрабатывать большой файл, парсить массив из сотен тысяч элементов или запускать сложные вычисления прямо в React-компоненте, то наверняка сталкивались с тем, что интерфейс подвисает, кнопки перестают реагировать, анимации застывают, и всё на секунду подвисает, пока скрипт не разлучит нас (ой, это не из этой сказки) завершит свою работу. Почему так происходит? Всё дело в том, что React, как и JS, в браузере работает на одном основном потоке. Точнее, чтобы меня не закидали помидорами, React — это библиотека JS, и она полностью работает в основном потоке браузера, который однопоточен. Когда вы запускаете тяжёлую синхронную задачу, она полностью занимает этот поток и блокирует его, мешая браузеру рендерить интерфейс и обрабатывать события пользователя. В современном фронтенде отзывчивость интерфейса — требование по умолчанию. Пользователи ожидают, что ваше приложение будет мгновенно реагировать на действия, даже если оно выполняет тяжёлые вычисления или загружает большие объёмы данных. В этой статье мы разберём, как можно решить эту проблему одним из вариантов — с помощью Web Workers.

Seriously, why has the PHPStorm/IntelliJ Markdown plugin been broken for so many years? I don't want a preview, the settings all day to just show me the editor, so it shows me only the preview for README.md, and split-screen for anything else.
WHY? HOW is a company with JetBrains' engineering prowess not able to fix this, years after I first encountered and reported it? As have many others?

Fedi admins: do not forget that this will not just affect mastodon instances. This will affect all fedi software with mastoAPI support enabled, including Pleroma/Akkoma/forks, Sharkey/forks, IceShrimp (both JS and .NET), any Misskey fork that allows mastodonAPI support, and GoToSocial. Even if the API to register or log into an account is disabled, all a bad actor needs to do is log in manually, generate an access token with note creation access or get the native token (which is bad!), and plug it into the spam bots.
For instances running software that does not require mastoAPI to function: please consider disabling mastoAPI support to remove extra attack surfaces. Do this either natively, if your software supports that, or by blocking it through your reverse proxy (NGINX, Caddy, etc.).

дякую за відповіді. попри великий досвід в it, я не фахівець із #matrix і ніколи не лазив до нього «під капот»; як користувач, пробував — концепція та інтерфейс користувача здались мені сферичним конем, натягненим на дупу, і загалом непридатним для використання нормальними людьми, тож покинув спроби і лише слідкував. допис за посиланням здався цікавим, бо підтвердив деякі здогади про «натягування» і непридатність навіть з інженерної сторони, а не лише користувацької.
не пропоную нічого, окрім як переглянути допис і робити власні висновки, чи, ще краще, експериментувати й перевіряти, якщо хто має наснагу. а я далі роститиму помідорчики.

🤏 I was in need of a UI container that scales its contents to fit the size. In Godot all built-in containers reset scale and rotation of its child nodes, which means you cannot directly scale the child to solve this.
🎓 Luckily, custom containers are stupidly simple! All it takes to create one is defining two methods:

Conta com toda a segurança quando necessária mas, paralelamente, ainda mantém casos de uso mais simples também, previstos literalmente há décadas. Há diretórios de salas de conversa em grupo não cifradas, facilmente encontráveis e compartilháveis.
Exemplo: sala "Fediverso Brasileiro", em que já conversa bastante gente envolvida que chegou a essa mesma conclusão. 💬 URL para quem já tem cliente XMPP instalado e configurado: xmpp:fediverso@grupos.bolha.one🗒️ Texto que redigi há um tempo sobre XMPP que também contém ligações para outros artigos muito interessantes.
