I'm interested in developing lightweight photorealistic simulators for low-end systems since my childhood as I had old PCs always and modern games didn't work well on them.
I know game development is extremely hard but at least I want to start learning small things. At least 3D modelling too.
I think I will develop for Linux only as Winzort is dead and macOS dropped OpenGL for their Metal.
So, any suggestions for making high performance OpenGL simulator? Modern graphics on low-end PCs possible, just believe in miracles.

Neuigkeiten zu den «Google Champions aus Mannheim»
Vor ein paar Wochen hat mir die Frankfurter SEO-Agentur trustfactory.de das Angebot unterbreitet, einen bezahlten Artikel im Blog unterzubringen. Es werde um die Themen CBD, Crypto, Gambling, Erotik und Tabak gehen. Dieser Gastbeitrag solle nicht als Werbung ausgezeichnet sein, dafür aber bestimmte Links enthalten. Diese Links sind das Kernstück dieses Angebots: Sie zielen auf den Pagerank-Algorithmus bei Google und sorgen dafür, dass die verlinkten Websites in der Resultatliste der Suchmaschine nach oben wandern.
Für meine «Mitarbeit» bei diesem Geschäft würde ich mit hundert Euro entlohnt werden. Ich habe (natürlich) abgelehnt und mich stattdessen eingehender mit Trustfactory beschäftigt. Interessant fand ich vor allem den Umstand, dass die Anfrage nicht direkt von Trustfactory kam, sondern über einen Vermittler, wunderpublish.de. Im Verlauf meiner Nachforschungen wurde dieser Vermittler ausgetauscht und es kam wunderwert.com ins Spiel.
Ein Blick ins Impressum sorgt für ein Aha-Erlebnis.Als ich meinen Blogpost veröffentlicht habe, besass die Wunderwert-Website nicht einmal ein Impressum. Stattdessen war dort eine Abwandlung des Lorem-Ipsum-Platzhaltertextes zu lesen. Das ist unzulässig für eine geschäftliche Website aus dem EU-Raum, für die eine Impressumspflicht existiert. Natürlich ist möglich, dass Wunderwert nicht in der EU angesiedelt ist. Aber selbst dann wirkt es nicht vertrauenerweckend, wenn uns jegliche Angaben zum Betreiber vorenthalten werden.
Es kommt Licht ins Dunkel – zumindest ein bisschen
Doch siehe da: Als ich neulich wieder einmal bei Wunderwert vorbeischaute, waren sowohl das Lorem als auch das Ipsum weg. Stattdessen wird im Impressum jetzt ein verantwortliches Unternehmen genannt. Das ist Trustfactory sp. z o.o. aus Warschau, Polen.
Das ist in dreifacher Hinsicht bemerkenswert:
- Erstens ist die Verbindung zu Trustfactory aus Mannheim belegt¹, und
- zweitens ist der Betreiber zwar in Polen angesiedelt, doch im Impressum wird die Verantwortlichkeit gemäss dem deutschen Rundfunkstaatsvertrag benannt.
Drittens wegen der Sinnfrage: Was ist der Nutzen, solche Deals mit Bloggern und anderen Internet-Leuten via Polen abzuwickeln? Die erste Vermutung lautet, dass in diesem Land undeklarierte Werbung kein rechtliches Problem darstellt. Laut meines juristischen Beistandes (ChatGPT) ist das jedoch nicht der Fall: Polen habe als EU-Mitglied die Richtlinie über unlautere Geschäftspraktiken (UGP) in nationales Recht übernommen.
Die Website wirbt mit «tiefgreifender Research, exklusivem Content und präzisem Seeding». Was klingt in meinen Ohren nichtssagend, und nach einer Prüfung der Site drängt sich mir die Vermutung auf, dieser angegebene Geschäftszweck nicht ernst gemeint ist.
Wer sind Sara Niehaus und David Myles?
Ich habe dafür zwei Indizien:
Im Abschnitt «Unsere Erfolge» sind zwei Referenzen (Testimonials) aufgeführt: Von Sara Niehaus, die VP Marketing eines Unternehmens namens FinovaPay sei, und von David Myles als Chef von SolarGrid. Ich habe gegoogelt und zu beiden Namen jeweils nur einen Treffer gefunden. Und zwar auf Wunderwert.com.
Sara Niehaus und David Myles sind beide begeistert von Wunderwert – auch wenn sie es nicht schaffen, diese Begeisterung in vernünftiges Deutsch zu fassen.Nun, das ist kein absoluter Beweis, dass es weder die Personen noch die Unternehmen gibt. Aber wie gross ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit? Zumindest ein Handelsregistereintrag oder ein, zwei Kundenbewertungen irgendwo müssten aufzutreiben sein – zumal der ganze Zirkus darüber veranstaltet wird, auf Google sichtbar zu sein. David Myles schwärmt schliesslich von den «Presse-Erwähnungen, die Bände sprechen». Hätte ich da nicht die eine oder andere Erwähnung finden müssen?
Komisch: Die beiden SEO-Kunden von Wunderwert liefern keinen einzigen Google-Treffer.Zweites Indiz: Der Ansprechpartner sei ein Mann namens Maximilian Voss, heisst es auf Wunderwert.com. Eine Prüfung mit Sight Engine (siehe hier) ergibt, dass sein Foto zu 99 Prozent KI-generiert sei.

Es bleibt daher bei der Vermutung, dass via Wunderwert jener Teil des Geschäfts abgewickelt werden soll, mit der Trustfactory aus Mannheim nicht in Verbindung gebracht werden möchte. Falls es anders sein sollte, bleibt mein Angebot bestehen, dass ich mich von Trustfactory gern eines Besseren belehren lasse und hier im Blog entsprechende Aufklärungsarbeit leisten würde.
Ginge das nicht ohne die ethischen Fragezeichen?
Bleibt abschliessend die Frage: Lässt sich das Geschäft mit den Backlinks – bei Wikipedia heisst es Linkbait – überhaupt ethisch einwandfrei betreiben?
Theoretisch ja: nämlich dann,
- wenn die angebotenen Inhalte so gut wären, dass sie freiwillig veröffentlicht würden oder
- wenn die Links klar als gekauft markiert würden.
Typischerweise dürften die Kunden solcher Agenturen aber mit Inhalten aufwarten, die von Bloggern und Online-Medien eher gemieden werden. Das Geschäft der Suchmaschinenoptimierung ist überhaupt nur entstanden, weil nicht jedes Unternehmen eine Knaller-Geschichte zu erzählen hat. Wäre es anders, bräuchte es keine «Google-Champions» (Eigenbezeichnung von Trustfactory), sondern lediglich Expertinnen und Experten fürs Storytelling, die die realen Erfolgsgeschichten optimal verwerten.
Würden die Links transparent als gekauft ausgewiesen, dann würde das ohne Zweifel dazu führen, dass Google sie nicht für die Berechnung des Pageranks heranziehen würde. Denn dieser Wert soll die organische Reichweite widerspiegeln. Für die sind die Nutzerinnen und Nutzer im Web zuständig – und sicher keine SEO-Agentur.
Die Suchmaschinenoptimierung hat einen seriösen Kern: Er besteht darin, dass Inhalte in einer für Google optimalen Weise präsentiert werden. Mehr liegt nicht drin: Mit Tricks ein Interesse vorzutäuschen, das nicht existiert, ist nach meinen Massstäben nicht ethisch.
Am besten erklärt sich das mit einer Sportmetapher: Es ist in Ordnung und sogar Pflicht, sich als Sprinter für die speziellen Bedingungen bei einem Turnier vorzubereiten. Doch eine Windmaschine aufzubauen und dem eigenen Sportler Luft mit Stärke 17 Beaufortskala in den Rücken zu blasen, ist nicht okay. Das könnte auch der Grund sein, dass die Windmaschine in diesem Beispiel hier über eine separate Website vermietet wird.

I started putting the first "module" together. The heatset inserts have been installed into the case along with the #RaspberryPi. Tomorrow I'll work on soldering the pin header to the OLED display and connecting it to the Pi. If I have time I'll work on putting together the other "modules" as well!

Dude, how are they going to determine my age thru my face though? I'm a bear and as far as I know, bear faces don't get recognized...
I mean no camera app from anybody's phones pick up my face AT ALL, even with Open Camera with Face Detection enabled, no box appears to indicate my face is detected.
I also don't have an ID and as far as I know, bears don't get credit cards.

I feel this so much.
I've still had luck with those tools but it was a lot less automated than I would have liked.
I used PHP Code Sniffer to test one version increment at a time. And PHP CS Fixer one or two rules at a time.
And none of the projects had tests of course. 😏

但畢竟是免費仔，實在沒資格要求什麼，最新版已增加描述的搜尋功能，可以自訂關鍵字，具備內建的AI可以將照片的內容以文字記錄，利於搜尋。但如果是繁體中文用戶建議更改AI的模型，不然情境搜尋多數悲劇。
