Urs Egger – „Krokodil“ (2013)
Es gibt Bücher, die bleiben. Sie tragen eigene Stimmen, Erinnerungen an Orte, Körper, Gerüche, Licht und eine bestimmte Zeit in einem Leben. „Krokodil“ war für mich so ein Buch. Ein Geschenk, das mir so viel mehr wert war als Papier. Denn Philippe Djian gehört zu den wenigen Autor:innen, die sich jeder Glättung verweigern, die ihre Figuren nicht retten und genau deshalb so nah an ihnen bleiben. Seine Geschichten sind Zustände von Einsamkeit, Begehren und Kontrollverlust. Dass daraus mal ein deutscher Fernsehfilm wird, habe ich für ein Missverständnis gehalten. Und dann kam Mario Adorf und verschob alles, was ich wusste. (ZDF, Wh.)

If I was to nominate the two things I find most striking about Mastodon they'd be:
1. the ability to edit posts after posting; this (as my followers will know) is a facility that I use a lot (and thanks to my great crew of typo spotters);
2. the norm of civility that we all maintain; of course trolling & slamming is not completely absent, but at least in my timeline & discussions/conversations civility have been the over-riding characteristic of my exchanges.

Just this week, I had a wonderful conversation with my Niece, who as part of her university studies in Bolton, is going to dig deep into her Mesopotamian heritage by exploring the Zoroastrian and Yazidi religions.
I'm really pleased as it goes beyond the British and French Sykes-Picot agreement of 1916 and establishes a direct link to her own history, which is equally interwoven with religions like Christianity, Judaism and Mandaeism.

Making good progress getting to the sound data out of Wwise containers for Wolfstone 2D. It's a real nesting doll situation with data blobs located by headers inside containers inside more containers, phew!
But also added some juice to #CDogsSDL, with spinning stars for confused actors. So in this game, certain weapons induce a confusion status effect, which reverses your direction controls. The addition of stars adds a nice touch I think!
