The first "beta" release of the next major version of Drawpile, version 2.3.0, will probably be released tomorrow.
There's many new features, one of them is a "Pigment" blend mode, usable for both brushes and layers. It does spectral color mixing, for more realistic, paint-like blending, rather than just averaging the red, blue and green channels.
For example, if you blend together blue and yellow, you get green instead of a muddled gray.

Eu sinto falta do aspecto humano nas discussões sobre #InteligenciaArtificial. Parece que as discussões não ligam os pontos. Estamos numa parte do fediverso, reclamando de algoritmos e apontando uma série de problemas sociais, econômicos, políticos e tecnológicos.
Mas… por algum motivo, não fazemos a conexão: e se as #RedesSociais, ao produzirem um exército de gente ansiosa e consumidora de conteúdo raso, não estiverem erodindo capacidades humanas de cuidado, acolhimento e escuta? Será que nada disso está deixando uma multidão pedindo peloamordedeos para o #ChatGPT conversar sobre tudo?
E mais: falamos tanto sobre arrocho salarial, #pobreza e dificuldade de acesso a bens e serviços, num país que gera empregos de forma muito precária. Nada disso se entrelaça com pedidos preguiçosos para que IAs façam trabalhos para os quais nem mesmo foram concebidas, retroalimentando conteúdo lixo, prestação de serviços lixo, desvalorização de profissionais diversos (os criativos, especialmente), etc.?
E também não acho que a crítica acerte quando trata do uso de energia, do contrário, a questão já estaria imbricada com vícios urbanos de grande escala, como cidades espraiadas e carrocêntricas.

I found a Python tool for Linux that gives the same dynamic range information as the Dynamic Range Meter for foobar2000 (Windows). As a rule, it's a value between 1 and 14. The worst I've ever seen is a 5 from Oasis recordings. 10 is good but in an average way. What I mean by that is that a CD should, at the very least, measure a 10. Most don't these days. The latest Opeth record is only a 7.

Some time back, I set up a blog on https://rant.li/. The purpose of the blog was to allow for a place where I could review books and interact with visitors. I chose rant.li because I wanted to stay close to the Fediverse. Since registering on the platform, I have found the experience frustrating. I understand that rant.li is minimalist in nature and this was something that was an attraction; however, I found navigation across the platform difficult. Until the very end, I still did not know if a partial article that I had written was saved as a draft or published for the world to see. The final straw came a few days ago when I was unable to access the account. There was no way for me to try to retrieve or change the password.
Writing personally and subjectively the user experience on rant.li was immensely difficult and over time had the feeling of a process of diminishing returns.
My request now is that I still have a desire to write my book reviews on a blog, what would you suggest is the best way forward?

Follow people who seem interesting, and if someone bothers you, you can block them. (If someone is really abusive or offensive, contact your server admin and see if the whole server can block them. Though mastodon.social is too big for that to do much. We'll find you a better instance once you're comfortable here.) Also, you can follow hashtags that interest you. That way you find people who have similar interests and concerns.
