Bro literally just spat out gibberish that looks like a hash. Bro also decided to toss in a SHA-1 once (which is also wrong) before "correcting" itself with a SHA-256 (which was still the same (incorrect) SHA-1).
This is deeply unserious technology.

#YouTube is starting to implement age restrictions , globally, to control who watches videos with mature themes, violence, or explicit language.
They plan to use AI-based age estimation. It will attempt to estimate a user's age based on viewing habits, search history, and account longevity. This is being tested with a small group of users in the U.S.
If the AI flags a user as potentially being under 18 and they try to watch an age-restricted video, they will be prompted to verify their age. The options for verification include uploading a government-issued ID, using a credit card, or, in some cases, a selfie.
Of course, this is to protect children. There's 0 chance this is really meant for government and corporations to identify who is using their site and to track them.
Users who are flagged and do not verify their age will be blocked from viewing age-restricted videos and may face other account restrictions.
Since this is global, a VPN won't circumvent the restrictions.
People seem to have voted away their freedom.

I finally got the new version of TWBlue to work, and I am very disappointed to find that it still! doesn't offer the ability to edit posts! It is clearly possible to do so, since TweeseCake can and Mastodon certainly can. Why is such an important feature not included here? It does, however, offer the ability to pin and unpin posts and to work with filters, which TweeseCake doesn't. It also seems that, although there is an option to view them, TweeseCake doesn't show favourites. That section is always blank, no matter how many posts I like. TWBlue shows them, though as with many of its other features, it only shows forty. Can't someone just create a client that actually contains all of the features of Mastodon? And before someone says "do it yourself", I am not a programmer. Both clients are excellent for most things. It just frustrates me that, if I really wanted to do everything via a client, I have to use two of them just to accomplish my goals. Fortunately, unlike Akkoma and especially Friendica, someplace.social really is accessible from the main site.

Привет. Я Дима Рагозин, фронтенд-разработчик в KTS . Эту статью я хочу начать с предыстории. Полтора года назад на проекте для одного крупного клиента мы получили задачу — ускорить главную страницу. К тому моменту в кодовой базе уже жили два отдельных фронтенд-приложения под две разные платформы — CSR-версия (Client Side Rendering) и SSR‑версия (Server Side Rendering), — а MobX‑сторы все время жизни проекта разрастались вместе с функциональностью. Каждый новый экран приносил еще один класс (а то и несколько), еще кучу связей, и в какой‑то момент мы стали замечать снижение воспринимаемой скорости приложения, избыточные HTTP‑запросы, сложности с поддерживаемостью и другие проблемы, которые становились критичнее по мере роста проекта. В статье я расскажу о том, как мы шаг за шагом перевели такие сторы на React Query, сократили код вокруг запросов на ≈50 % и практически избавились от повторных GET‑ов. Попутно поведаю о наших граблях и поделюсь советами по миграции.
