Wenn ich jedes Mal, in der ich eine KI auf Falschbehauptungen oder 404-URLs hingewiesen habe und die Antwort bekam „Du hast natürlich völlig recht“ einen Euro bekommen hätte, könnte ich schon fast meine Miete davon zahlen.
Ich möchte lieber nicht wissen, wieviel miesen Code oder schlechte Entscheidungen schon von unhinterfragter KI auf den Weg gebracht wurden - und vor allem nicht, was davon zur Gefahr für Leib und Leben werden könnten.

I have at long last returned to work on my #Python terminal server (#BBS) software. Did a fair bit of tidying up over the last couple of days. Preparing for an overhaul of the ORM, migrating from a dead project I chose when asyncio was still fairly new (Gino) to something that pairs better with my choice of #FastAPI for the web server code (sqlmodel). I have so many ideas, and it's easy to get sidetracked (which halts momentum toward an alpha release), but I've got a project board I've put together to try and keep me pushing forward.

I was reading the Fediverse Report – #128 post by @laurenshof and several sentences caught my attention:
Ghost’s connection to the fediverse currently means that following a Ghost blog from your fediverse account results in seeing a post with the article headline and a URL
That's how Mastodon displays Article objects: only a headline and a URL (see issue #24079). However, Mastodon is the only fediverse platform that removes content from articles. According to funfedi.dev data, others don't remove content:

GoToSocial, Hollo, Misskey, Mitra, Pleroma. These platforms either have full support for long form content or use graceful degradation. The dataset doesn't include some other popular platforms like Friendica, but I am sure they also display long form content just fine. So this really has nothing to do with Fediverse or #ActivityPub.
Fediverse platform developers (including Mastodon, Ghost, WordPress, WriteFreely and more) are collaborating on creating a space on the fediverse that suites the need of blogging and articles well
I keep seeing this again and again, it increasingly looks like an attempt to take credit for solving the problem with articles in ActivityPub. But the problem doesn't exist, it is literally a flaw in a single implementation that can be fixed with a single line of code.
There are, of course, real problems with rich content. How to prevent tracking when remote media is embedded in the page? What to do with CSS? What about interactive content? Unfortunately, I haven't seen anyone talking about these problems.

Landrat und Gemeinde versuchen dieses Jahr alles mögliche, um das antifaschistische Festival in Jamel zu unterbinden, oder es mit so vielen Auflagen zu überziehen, dass die Macher:innen aufgeben.
Jamel, in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, ist seit Jahrzehnten dafür bekannt, dass Neonazis versuchen das Dorf zu übernehmen.
Seit 2007 richten alljährlich die Eheleute Horst und Birgit Lohmeyer ein antifaschistisches Festival aus. Nach Wahlerfolgen von Neonazis, versuchen nun ein CDU-Landrat und die Gemeinde mit Auflagen, Kostenbescheiden und wie nun das Verwaltungsgericht entschied "treuewidrigen" Forderungen, die Veranstalter:innen zu schikanieren.
Die neueste Dreistigkeit: es sollen knapp 8.000 € für die Nutzung gemeindlicher Flächen im voraus gezahlt und ultimativ auf eine Rückforderung verzichtet werden, selbst wenn Gerichte später den Kostenbescheid für rechtswidrig erklären sollten. Dem schob das Gericht nun einen Riegel vor.
Zudem geht es um die Frage, ob beim Festival Alkohol ausgeschenkt werden darf. Jetzt behauptet die Versammlungsbehörde: "Die rauschbedingte Enthemmung von Teilnehmern kann aufgrund der Enge des Festivalgeländes zu Auseinandersetzungen mit anderen Teilnehmern führen."
Am 22.und 23.08. findet das Festival (vermutlich) statt. Trotz aller Einschüchterungsversuche, trotz aller Schikanen, trotz aller behördlicher Versuche, das Festival letztlich zu verhindern.
Der Fall zeigt, wie die Zusammenarbeit von Neonazis im örtllichen Gemeinderat mit anderen Parteien, im Gleichklang mit einem CDU Landrat und der Polizei im Jahr 2025 funktioniert. Noch partiell gestoppt, von Gerichten- aber die Neonazis versuchen auch in den Justizapparat vorzudringen. Sie brauchen dazu keine neuen Gesetze, sie brauchen nur die bestehenden in ihrem Sinne anzuwenden und dürfen bei der Polizei auf willige Vollstrecker:innen bauen.

EU-Mitgliedsstaaten, die der Einführung zumindest bestimmter Formen der Chatkontrolle widersprachen - darunter auch #Deutschland - scheinen sich nicht mehr so klar gegen das Vorhaben zu stellen wie bisher.
Die Chatkontrolle hatte die EU-Kommission bereits vor einigen Jahren ins Leben gerufen. Damit möchte die #EU eine weitreichende Möglichkeit der #Massenüberwachung jeglicher privater Kommunikation durch Inhaltsscans auf den Endgeräten aller Nutzer*innen durchsetzen und private, verschlüsselte Kommunikation unmöglich machen. Behörden und Ministerien sollen davon aber ausgenommen sein.
Schon seit einigen Jahren arbeitet die EU-Kommission energisch auf diese Form der anlasslosen Massenüberwachung hin. Fehlende Einigungen im EU-Rat verhinderten bisher einen Erfolg. Trotzdem bleibt das Vorhaben permanent auf der Agenda. Im EU-System ändern auch Parlamentswahlen daran nichts.
