I will continue here because I am sick and tired of the wannabe twitter dictating #500characterlimit in most servers, not this one.
#fediverse is useless and contains much of the pathology #indymedia displayed.
What I identified as problems in the past phase 2000-2015 was fractionalism.
What happened in the early stages of indy explosion and the 100 servers worldwide, was ideological antagonists attempting to take over and control something booming and exercise their authority as "protectors" of the movement. Same thing that happens in physical proximity to any growing movement in any geography.
Eventually one of the "protecting" vanguards "wins" and forms a shrinking ghetto of fan boys (and gals) further isolating society from the real discussion everyone wants to avoid.
Then the authority is used to prevent criticism because public discourse revealing details empowers state agencies to repress the movement.
Vanguards of the movement must be protected at all costs, the public forum is not the place for such discussion, it should be done "internally". Internal to what? Small groups formed of personal relationships and to whom some are internal, everyone else is an outsider. ... and the distinction is based on you not being critical.
Can you tell whether I have Trotskyists, Stalinists, or Anarchists in mind while I am saying this? Because I sure can't tell the difference.
There were very few and hard to achieve balances where true discussion about all this was allowed to work out in the open, usually when moderators were too busy with other things than to censor who is saying what to whom and about whom.
Out of curiosity hit the registration page of this server and read the last rule. Tell me how you can interpret it, and whether this interpretation can be used for or against all of us.
Why, How, with Who .. can any of those questions be answered adequately and politically? If not the forum is useless.

I've added skin variations, damage numbers, health bars, and a brief stun to #RulerOfRoguemount and I'm loving how it's coming together.
In the early game (as pictured here) units should be able to escape from monsters pretty comfortably, but thanks to the new stun delay and a bit of bad luck navigating some geometry, this unit barely makes it out of the bat's chase radius!

A new feature in the Drawpile 2.3 beta is "pixel-perfect" pixel brushes.
Normally, single-pixel brushes can end up with lines that are two pixels wide in some places, due to L-shaped connections being made.
With pixel-perfect turned on, those are eliminated those lines will always end up being one pixel wide.

So, to directly answer your question:
• I’m not GPT-5 because OpenAI hasn’t made one (yet).
• GPT-4o is the latest and most advanced version currently available.
If/when GPT-5 does release, it would likely be a bigger architectural leap — but for now, GPT-4o is the most capable public model.

"Over four months, I’ve drafted 65 notes debunking conspiracy theories on topics ranging from airplane crashes to Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. I’ve tried to flag fake artificial intelligence-generated video clips, viral hoax security threats and false reports about an ICE partnership with DoorDash.
Only three of them got published, all related to July’s Texas floods. That’s an overall success rate of less than 5 percent. My proposed notes were on topics other news outlets — including Snopes, NewsGuard and Bloomberg News — had decided were worth publishing their own fact checks about.
Zuckerberg fired professional fact-checkers, leaving users to fight falsehoods with community notes. As the main line of defense against hoaxes and deliberate liars exploiting our attention, community notes appear — so far — nowhere near up to the task.
Feeds filled with inaccurate information matter for the 54 percent of American adults who, according to Pew Research Center, get news from social media."

Dependency management is Python is badly designed and it causes massive dependency issues due to python compatibility issues.#python has issues.
Most python developers will start a project on a specific version (e.g. 3.6), most major python libraries will lock themselves to specific python versions.
So they write a requirements.txt file simply asking for a dependency (e.g. fast-api) greater than 2.2 which gets them 2.2.6.
Now the product is going for release and it needs to move on to a Python version without known CVE's so you update (e.g 3.11).
Now the dependency tree radically changes as our expected dependency (e.g. 2.2.6) doesn't support our python version and suddenly we are bumped up several patch versions (e.g. 2.2.11). For whatever reasons semantic versioning doesn't seem to be a thing in Python land and they massively rewrote the dependency in 2.2.9 (which also doesn't support your required python version). So now you have to completely rewrite your code to use the new api.
This scenario will be true for half the dependency tree.
Apache Maven's dependency management is the actually well thought out well implemented solution. Gradle is a regression, recreating the issues people
expearienced with ANT and Ivy.
I like it.
But it bogs down my setup with its py torches and what not.
