Mal ne Frage zu Mastodon / Fediverse / Clients
Wenn ich mir z. B. Hashtag Fotografie ansehe, dauert es 2-5 min, dann werden keine Bilder mehr geladen. Ich dachte erst es liegt an Moshidon und habe deshalb Pachli getestet. Auch dort passiert das, was mich überlegen lässt, ob es an Mastodon selbst, oder an der Instanz liegt.
Wer kann mir da entsprechende Informationen geben?
Hat jemand einen Tipp für mich?
Natürlich leere ich regelmäßig den Cach, mehrmals täglich, damit ich überhaupt Bilder ansehen kann. In Moshidon zumindest geht das, doch es kann ja nicht sein das ich alle paar min in die Einstellungen wechseln muss, um den Cach zu leeren und darf dann die Bildersuche jedesmal von vorn beginnen.
Klar, ich kenne dieses Problem schon seit Jahren, doch langsam verliere ich die Lust. Möglicherweise mache ich etwas falsch, bzw habe falsche Einstellungen in der Instanz oder so.

Vor gut zwei Stunden habe ich #anonsys.net wieder online genommen. Ich bin jetzt mal vorsichtig optimistisch, was den Betrieb betrifft. Werde jetzt noch vermehrt das Monitoring und die Logfiles im Auge behalten.
Was war los?
In letzter Zeit gab es immer wieder Probleme beim Aufruf dieser #Friendica Instanz. Eine genauere Analyse hat folgende Ursache für die Probleme gezeigt:
Die Fehlermeldungen im error.log deuten auf einen schweren InnoDB-Fehler und eine Assertion Failure direkt im InnoDB-Quellcode (trx0rseg.cc line 370, Assertion !UT_LIST_GET_LEN(undo_list)). In der Regel ist das ein eindeutiger Hinweis auf eine interne Datenbankkorruption im InnoDB-Tablespace.
Dies hatte zur Folge, dass ich die Datenbank erst einmal sichern durfte. Danach den InnoDB-Tablespace löschen und neue aufbauen musste, inkl. zurückspielen des zuvor erstellten Dumps.
Dies war leider sehr zeitaufwändig. Aber die Nachtschicht heute hat sich scheinbar gelohnt und so konnte anonsys.net heute Morgen wieder online gehen. Ich hoffe, das war es jetzt mit den DB-Problemen. 🙄

More features I wish #Mastodon had:
- More complex filtering rules, e.g. "if contains this phrase and not that phrase".
- Users can be filtered behind a click-through, so I effectively get a CW before I see their post. This is useful if someone posts a lot of un-CW'd political content and I want to CW it.
- Mute people but only on timelines so I can still have conversations with them (or can I do this already? I'm not sure).
- Allow a user to turn off the trending tab so I don't feel the urge to click on it

Now you can send in a summary that is used, and that gets you heaps closer to a better UX than what came before.
Mastodon has misused summaries for content warnings since someone from the demo scene sent in a PR for Mastodon to do so in 2017.
So this means that Mastodon stopped doing so on Article-type objects and actually regards summaries as summaries and handles them accordingly instead?
And when and with which version was this rolled out?
Or did Mastodon insist in the creation of yet another text field which has to be rolled out to all macroblogging and long-form blogging server applications? Even though ActivityPub does have a perfectly good summary field, only that Mastodon uses it for CWs?
Although I must say that the step from displaying Article-type objects as title (if there is any) + link to displaying them as title (if there is any) + summary (if there is any) + link is not that big. Mobile users who see their Web browsers popping up as a nuisance will still ignore your content.
On the other hand, this does not only appease Eugen Rochko, the Lord and Creator of the Fediverse and all of its technology (according to the Gospel of Mastodon, anyway), but also those Mastodonians who demand there must not be any posts with over 500 characters in the Fediverse, and who immediately block everyone who exceeds 500 characters even only once even on the federated timeline.
Besides, there is still "long-form", multiple-paragraph content going out as Note-type objects. In general, I guess that comments always go out as Note-type objects.

Today I worked on the background animation for the Space Theme of Isotris. I think the animation looks pretty cool!
There are other themes I want to work on. Some of them will be in the release version (by the way, I think I need to set the date...).
I'm planning to release the game with some theme options, and then I will make more themes available as DLC on Itch. I will need to learn how to handle DLC material.
