The terminology is not the most important thing to talk about, but it is an indication of the underlying values and goals, and those are definitely important. I tried to argue why it is important to think about the different implications of #FreeSoftware and #OpenSource, not that one term is "better". The pyroute2 thing really makes me wonder about library design. As far as I can tell, the issue is that #Python automatically imports parent modules (so e.g. from pyroute2.iwutil import AsyncIW also imports pyroute2, probably makes sense), and then the pyroute2 __init__.py imports pretty much all the child modules (which is all too common in Python libraries, sadly). Which means I have no way to import only the small part I need. And changing that import structure would probably break backwards compatibility in pyroute2. Is lazy-importing Python modules a thing?

There is a reason why most big tech companies support #OpenSource software in some way, and I would argue it is not because of any #freedom they want the users of their software to have, but simply because it can make a lot of sense to develop software openly. I am going to talk about something scandalous, something hushed, something shameful, and something a woman should never talk about- Nudity.
Nudity has always been associated with shame. But the definition of “shame” is different for different genders. If a man roams around shirtless or in shorts, the shame is on the woman who looks at him. But, if a woman roams around in the same way, the shame is on the woman, not on the onlookers.
Do you know why? Let our ancestors say, “Aurat ek Khuli tijori hoti hai.” When have you ever heard society say, “Look how shameless he is! Roaming around without clothes!”? But you must have heard it when the ‘he’ was replaced by ‘she’.
Men’s nudity is their privilege bestowed upon them by the patriarchy. Sometimes, even men’s nudity is objectified by women who get attracted to it. Let’s be honest, seeing Shah Rukh Khan shirtless in Pathaan was sizzling!
But let’s also admit that if women gaze at the naked bodies of men, they don’t consider it as their opportunity or “asking for it“. On the other hand, a woman wearing a bikini or revealing clothes becomes a national issue. Women showing off their breasts, curves, or waist while being wrapped in a saree is also not acceptable.
Men’s nudity is normal and rightful, while women’s nudity is immoral and shameful. Did the Constitution make different laws for men and women? Because when I last checked, the Constitution, under Article 19(1), provides the freedom of speech and expression to everyone.
Although there are obscenity laws, they are conditional based on the way the expression is understood. In short, India does provide freedom of expression, but within the limits of public morality, which is smeared by the traditional ideas of Patriarchy...

It seems the shooting yesterday in Atlanta WAS directed at the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
The shooter stood just outside the CDC campus and shot into it (it is all pretty squishy in that area of the city).
“Authorities have not confirmed a motive, but sources told CNN the shooter may have targeted the CDC over personal health concerns he blamed on the Covid-19 vaccine.”
