We already see a lot of actors—based on this monetization of platforms like X—that are using AI to produce content that just seeks to maximize attention. So misinformation, often highly polarized information as AI models become more powerful, that content is going to take over. I have a hard time seeing the conventional social media models surviving that."

Sharing this in the interest of transparency.
While I do what I can to block bots & scrapers from our instance, our CDN (content delivery network) host indiepocalypse.files.monster.host is included in the list of what is being scraped by Meta's AI. This means any attachments to your toots.
And even if I did have direct control over the CDN, any images, videos or audio files that distribute to another instance that doesn't could just be scraped there.
I truly don't know what can be done about this.
