What #Mastodon #clients do people recommend? Have been using the official app for a while but only recently have been trialing #Tusky. Overall very smooth but some things irk me, like not listing the number of notifications and tabs don't automatically refresh forcing me to manually scroll to the top.
Just installed #Pachli. So far it's OK. Boosting posts is a two-step process however. Pressing the button expands a submenu with the only option to boost. That is gonna be a deal-breaker soon.

They did the same radical rephrase and reorganization with their new privacy policy. After I finish reading the new privacy policy, I have two more pairs of documents to read.
I'm mostly only reading the new documents because how #Bluesky is organizing this makes it exceedingly difficult to cogently see what has changed.
Even if the new terms, privacy policy, copyright policy, and community guidelines are all extremely reasonable ... making it difficult to see what has changed is anti-consumer behavior. In a less unjust world, #Bsky would face consequences for doing this.

"In a reel shared to Instagram on February 14, an account identifying itself with a group called The 13th Northeast Guerillas put out a call to prospective recruits in Vermont and New Hampshire. What they advertised was fairly benign on its surface: fitness, community, preparation, survivalist training. The video was set to the tune of Kendrick Lamar’s “TV Off” and featured a rapid succession of highly edited images showing armed men posing in the wilderness in tactical gear. They sometimes wore skeleton masks, and everyone had their faces entirely concealed or censored. In many of the images, crucifixes are seen visibly dangling from their necks or sewn onto clothing.
In another post from earlier this year, one of the group's purported members shared a photo of a young man holding an assault weapon with a crucifix displayed over a plaid shirt and his face blurred out. The caption cites Psalm 19:1: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim his handiwork."

"xAI apparently lost a government contract after a tweak to Grok's prompting triggered an antisemitic meltdown where the chatbot praised Hitler and declared itself MechaHitler last month.
Despite the scandal, xAI announced that its products would soon be available for federal workers to purchase through the General Services Administration. At the time, xAI claimed this was an "important milestone" for its government business.
But Wired reviewed emails and spoke to government insiders, which revealed that GSA leaders abruptly decided to drop xAI's Grok from their contract offering. That decision to pull the plug came after leadership allegedly rushed staff to make Grok available as soon as possible following a persuasive sales meeting with xAI in June.
It's unclear what exactly caused the GSA to reverse course, but two sources told Wired that they "believe xAI was pulled because of Grok’s antisemitic tirade."

"The White House’s recently-unveiled “AI Action Plan” wages war on so-called “woke AI”—including large language models (LLMs) that provide information inconsistent with the administration’s views on climate change, gender, and other issues. It also targets measures designed to mitigate the generation of racial and gender biased content and even hate speech. The reproduction of this bias is a pernicious problem that AI developers have struggled to solve for over a decade.
A new executive order called “Preventing Woke AI in the Federal Government,” released alongside the AI Action Plan, seeks to strong-arm AI companies into modifying their models to conform with the Trump Administration’s ideological agenda.
The executive order requires AI companies that receive federal contracts to prove that their LLMs are free from purported “ideological biases” like “diversity, equity, and inclusion.” This heavy-handed censorship will not make models more accurate or “trustworthy,” as the Trump Administration claims, but is a blatant attempt to censor the development of LLMs and restrict them as a tool of expression and information access."
