This morning, I saw the attached article about a woman arrested for threatening to kill President Trump. The woman, Nathalie Rose Jones, claims to have schizophrenia and I have no reason to doubt it. Psychiatric illnesses like schizophrenia are sometimes called behavioral disorders, because the symptoms are behavioral. Makes sense. It should not surprise any thinking person that when the human brain is ill, the visible symptoms are behavioral—they can see as much in Alzheimer’s and severe intellectual disabilities. The symptoms of schizophrenia can include paranoia, anger, delusions, and impulsivity. Such symptoms can look, especially to simpleminded persons, like willful misbehavior that merits punishment and that is what such illnesses tend to get in the USA. 1/6
