@spheresystem I tried #Fedilab, but it is not a good viewing experience. It's super clunky with its #PeerTube functionality, doesn't let you follow accounts, you can't even comment on videos because "The video cannot be federated!" the app just... ignores your screen's lock settings and rotates anyway, language filters don't even really work, etc. I left a review, but it's bad.
And yeah, I've heard the actual PeerTube app is also not great. If PeerTube wants any chance to be remotely successful, they have to branch out into mobile and do it well. A huge chunk of #Youtube's viewership is on mobile, and not just on Android, either.

Day 17 of #almost70degreesnorth
Due to very bad weather forecast I skipped the planned trip to #Bergen (a city I know very well from before) and after a tip on #Mastodon I opted for a stay at #Røros a place I visited only once on business in winter before.
The #train ride from #Trondheim was smooth and offered great views of the #Glomma valley. I also have to say my stay in Trondheim was a very positive one, and should I relocate the city is a front runner.
In Røros I got a very good deal at Vertshuset and it was probably the most comfy room I stayed at during the trip. Even if I felt a bit under the weather, I went for a first exploration #run and got eventually a bit lost.

@Eceni yes, the #fediverse isn't perfect, yet. But it is ours, it's been built by collective effort of volunteers, it can be improved and extended by collective effort. We don't need "the money and the finance" (at least, not more of it than we can collectively raise). We don't need to "use the tools of capitalism to do it". We've got this. All we need to do is to eat (and collectively improve) our own dogfood.
