Working one more of my series “Butterfly 🦋 Warrior”! Also writing my schedule differently this time. This will be a Saturday to Saturday work week because I’m hauling as much as I can. Right now I am working on wing detailing (part 1). I decided that would be part of my detailing step since it’s less stressful but still meticulous. The story behind ““Butterfly 🦋 Warrior”, is to spread awareness for these families and individuals who have children with the rare skin condition known as Epidermolysis Bullosa. Jeder #Meta - Nutzer, also Nutzer/User von #Facebook, #Instagram oder #WhatsApp, generiert dem Meta Konzern pro Monat $26,73 (die Zahlen gelten für User aus den USA und Kanada, aber International sieht es wohl nicht anders aus), hauptsächlich durch Werbung.
Zum Vergleich: #Snap, #reddit und #Pinterest verdienen an ihren Usern „nur“ ca. $2,55 durch Werbung im Monat.
Instagram alleine hat in diesem Jahr $32 Milliarden durch Werbung eingenommen, das sind (zum ersten mal überhaupt) über die Hälfte aller Einnahmen des Meta Konzerns.
Die größte Gefahr, die Herr Zuckerberg übrigens für die Einnahmen seines Konzerns sieht, ist #TikTok. Was dann auch erklärt wieso Zuckerberg der mit weitem Abstand aggressivste Kämpfer in den USA für ein TikTok Verbot ist.

My custom bash script is now producing automatic snapshots on my Raspberry Pi 4B (DIY network server).
As the filesystem changes, after a maximum number of seconds has elapsed, but not before a minimum number of seconds has elapsed, it produces a Btrfs snapshot of that user's subvolume.
These snapshots are exposed via Samba for "previous versions" functionality.
Next step: using Btrfs send/receive to backup changes from this Raspberry Pi to another one.

On April 1, Mohammad Halimi, a 52-year-old exiled Afghan scholar who had been assisting U.S. diplomats in understanding his homeland, learned that his name had appeared in a viral post on X, shared by Elon Musk. The post declared that Halimi was a former Taliban member, and that payments to him for his work for the United States Institute of Peace constituted support for militants. Halimi had worked for the Taliban government in the 1990s, but subsequently switched sides and served as a cabinet minister in the U.S.-backed Afghan government. The Taliban had attempted to assassinate him three times. And the U.S. government — including Musk and DOGE — knew all of this. Musk's post exposed Halimi and endangered him, and those family members who are still in Afghanistan. He immediately began to receive threatening messages. A week after Musk's April 1 social media post, three of his family members were taken by the Taliban in Kabul, questioned and beaten. @ProPublica reports on everything that happened, how DOGE took things to another level on Fox News, and how they continue to justify their actions.

The healthcare system in red states is absolutely horrifying.
I fled Boise, Idaho since it was nearly impossible to get into #mentalhealth systems outside of acute inpatient care. They'd discharge you to a shelter.
A friend ended up in South Carolina and needed a major surgery. She couldn't get pain killers after getting an organ removed, and had no support to help her figure out why, and another doctor said "eh, you're fine,".
Who needs #horror when you have the #usa?

Excerpt: "A new study by #MIT has published initial results highlighting a likely connection between large language models (#LLMs)—colloquially grouped under the banner of AI—and a direct cognitive cost, particularly when it comes to our ability to think critically. They conducted a study using a pool of 54 participants, divided into three groups. The groups were asked to deliver an SAT-grade essay, with the first group granted access to #ChatGPT, the second to traditional #GoogleSearch, and the third with no search resources at all. Group 3 was referred to as the '#BrainOnly' group.
"Over time, each participant had to produce several essays, and each time was attached to an EEG to record brain activity across 32 regions. Consistently, ChatGPT users had the lowest brain engagement for every essay, and worryingly showed decreasing brain activity over time, as they progressed through the essay assignments. What this represents is the ChatGPT participants getting '#lazier' with each subsequent essay, with many resorting to copy-and-paste content by the end of the study. The study also recorded that this group 'consistently underperformed at #neural, #linguistic, and behavioral levels.' The findings make sense; with ChatGPT doing much of the work, it's easier on our #cognitive processes, and it is unsurprising that it takes less mental effort.
"Perhaps the more concerning aspect of the findings is the connection between #ReducedBrainActivity and impact on long-term learning and memory. As well as recording the participants' level of satisfaction, #curiosity, #creativity and #memory as part of the study—which were all high for both the brain-only and the search assisted groups (groups 2 and 3)—a later part of the study asked each group to reproduce one of their earlier essays, with the ChatGPT group asked to do so without access to any tools. There was little evidence of this group's participants remembering much of their previous essay, highlighting the very necessary link between #CognitiveEngagement and memory and, therefore, the potential impact on #LongTermLearning and gaining new skills. Conversely, and perhaps reassuringly, however, the brain-only group was then permitted to rewrite their essay with access to ChatGPT, with their efforts showing higher levels of creativity and stronger arguments, while retaining original thinking and unique language. This could present reassurance that, employed properly, AI has a place in enhancing learning without diminishing cognitive capability.

Alibaba ( у которых Qwen, AliExpress и Tmall ) на днях представила Qoder — свою пока бесплатную альтернативу Cursor. Я успел провести с ним сегодня свой рабочий день, и вот мои впечатления. Сравнивать его я буду с Windsurf, т.к. им пользовался дольше остальных.
