They closed it instantly as “not planned” without offering alternatives or explaining why it couldn’t be done. It leaves me uneasy posting anywhere I can’t correct mistakes or clean up old threads. Mastodon at least respects user control.

Tried giving feedback about deletion on Lemmy.World, but the core devs shut it down as “not planned,” insisting public posts shouldn’t be fully removable. It leaves me uneasy; if an admin ignores you, the post just sits there forever. I’m not comfortable posting anywhere I can’t correct mistakes or clean up old threads. Even Mastodon handles deletion with more respect for user agency.
