found a neat opensource project a P2P search engine it doesn't seem to work that well but I feel like this kind of thing would work better if more people were using it.
I do think we need to find a real alternative to closed source search engines.
I was using searx but that is just a search engine aggregator it doesn't do it's own indexing and therefore still relies on other search engines.

I had forgotten that I have qemu installed. I need to check the syntax for memory allocation but this iso starts (slitaz) FreeBSD starts effortless and goes all the way to live even Omnios also but I need to allocate more ram for that than the default small ammount.

While techincally #atproto supports decentralization as well as #activitypub , in practice basically all #atproto users are on the mercy of centralized #bluesky. The #mastodon world is really decentral: Decision making, jurisdictions etc.

Ok, regarding #bluesky and #missisipi, #uk, #australia I think a great opportunity for age verification would be a company using something like @badgefed , where there only purpose is to do physical world credentials verification, and then emit a decentralized badge (18+ years old) and then companies can just use that badge to let them login.
I mean, if the badges are emitted to fediprofiles, they can even login with their accounts!

Last night we wanted to power on an emergency replacement consumer class #amplifier at a party (but we forgot to take the remote with us).
Turned out (after installing it near the dancefloor), some #Denon amplifiers (like avr 1100 rd) are not switching to ON, when pressing #power button. Instead they go to #Standby.
While party-people were waiting for music, staring at us, a younger and an older guy started research, how to power on denon receiver without remote.
I didn't find the answer last night, and it took me 20 minutes of websearch, to find this forum-talk today, where pushing the "tuner" and "video select" buttons are mentioned, to switch from standby to #ON: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/old-denon-1100-rd-wont-go-from-standby-to-on.2961500/
While this is really bad device-#design, it makes me furious, that i did not find the information easily with websearch or on the Denon company website. Perhaps my search terms were bad.

I still will not use "AI" for academic work, but i am asking me, what are the most efficient ways to store and retrieve such technical information? I even did not find a real user manual for this receiver online.

@elminuto Da musste ich jetzt ein wenig drüber nachdenken, denn in Teilen hast Du Recht: Auf FB und Insta Werbung fürs #Fediverse zu machen finde ich einen legitimen Zweck.
"FB & Insta - den Nazis nicht das Feld überlassen" finde ich trotzdem die falsche Strategie. Man spielt doch nicht auf einem Spielfeld, dessen Dimensionen man nicht kontrolliert und schon gar nicht ein Spiel, dessen Regeln andere kontrollieren und wo bekannt ist, dass diese Regeln nicht zu unseren Gunsten laufen. Das Abrutschen des Diskurses ist da nicht zu verhindern, wir sollten unsere Energie darauf konzentrieren, so schnell so viele Menschen wie möglich zu den Alternativen zu bringen. Schwerpunkt muss dabei auf der Überzeugung von Veranstaltern und sonstigen Aktivisten liegen (Fanziner bspw.).
Unterwanderungsversuche wird es weiterhin und immer geben, aber mit Mastodon gibt es hier mit einem Mal ein Spielfeld & Regeln, über das wir (mit)bestimmen können. Analog zu AZs etc. im RL.
Ich hoffe, ich konnte ein wenig verständlich machen, was ich meine. Disclaimer: Ich habe keine Ahnung, was bei FB & Insta abgeht, ich war da nie. Insofern vllt. nur Theoriegefasel fern jeglicher Realität, was ich hier ablasse.

Mastodon is a mess without my patches. Yep, I submitted them to their GitHub. They got no traction beyond the occasional "can you rebase this." Yes, sure, I'm going to rebase it, and again, and again, and again,.... because Mastodon is my 24/7 job. (Newsflash: it isn't.)
It does look like I'm going to have to rework them now because without them Mastodon is nigh unusable.
