@matuzo and i still think the greatest robin hood story of #DSGVO was the person who learned about it at an AMS course and "sued" every website wrongfully using third party google fonts with help of a bot and lawyer friend - before that, everyone knew it was wrong. But no consequences.
Noyb / Schrems doing the same for fighting against companies for privacy.
Is there something equal in the #a11y space? Some watchdog organisation or some group "motivating" big companies by calling them out? 🤔 (Otherwise these laws will be a "Papiertiger"?)

there's a specific fedi instance ending in .estate (you've probably seen it if you're a #mastoadmin or #fediadmin) that's been a hub for all sorts of problematic stuff. I have just sent an abuse report to:
- the domain registrar
- the nameserver operator, and
- the gTLD owner.
Many of these places will remove domains that violate their policies if alerted to them, so if you are a fedi admin and encounter a troll instance, I suggest reporting it to all those places.

TIL when importing assets from Blender 4.4 into Godot vertex colors are ignored. From some reading around it sounds like the problem could be avoided by having an explicit reference to vertex colors in a shader or material.
Either way I ended up wasting at least half an hour trying to figure out why vertex colors weren't working in Robot Shooter. Switching Godot to using Blender 4.0 fixed the problem for now.

Guess it will take some extra time that national laws like #BFSG, #BaFG take a bit more effect? In Germany the national Behörde is not ratified in all Bundesländer yet, at least it wasn't few weeks ago.
For #DSGVO there were often examples as well were it was half done, grey area, etc. Guess you can never fully enforce something - but you now have a better shot at pushing it in big companies?
But I heard a friend talking about his team lead, who simply said "I do not care about accesibility for our website" and their legal advisor said "no consequences yet, take your time till next year". 🤷🏻♂️
& Change management is always tough. But you're longer in the game, no news for you here 🤓

20 Nov 2024: the last time I painted in my studio, before Storm Bert flooded it.
Nearly a year later, I’m still locked out — not by water, but by the sheer incompetence of the insurance process.
This was my purpose-built studio, my later-life dream. Time is the one thing I can’t reclaim, yet it’s been stolen by bureaucracy.

Over the last few days, I updated the current entries on this wikipage about blockchain-related social media projects;

About 1/3 of the projects in the list are still active in some form. None of them seem to have achieved a critical mass of use outside the bubble universe of crypto. Only one has now implemented ActivityPub (and previously Matrix for their in-house chat), and that one never pitched itself as decentralised.

Anne ist begeistert vom Stand der Entwicklung zu WordPress 6.9. Es sind noch etwa zwei Monate bis zum Release von Beta 1 und sie gibt uns einen Einblick in den aktuellen Stand der Entwicklung.
Zwei zentrale Features sind ins Rampenlicht gerückt worden:
- Die Block-Sichtbarkeit: Aktuell wird an einer Funktion gearbeitet, mit der Blöcke im Editor verborgen, aber weiterhin bearbeitbar bleiben – praktisch für Staging, alternative Designs oder noch unveröffentlichte Inhalte.

Moin liebes #Fediverse zu diesem Wochenanfang. Es regnet draussen ein bisschen, das deutet schon wieder auf Elterntaxi Chaos vor der Grundschule hin. Die lieben kleinen müssen doch am besten ohne einen Tropfen abzukriegen bis in den Klassenraum gefahren werden.

Is #chatgpt hallucinating, or is it telling me the goods?
I got an error when plotting a chart, that said the feature wasn't yet supported. So I asked about that error, and this is the answer I got back (the Dynamic Updates must become a thing!!!)
OpenAI has been experimenting with interactive charts inside ChatGPT (sometimes called data exploration mode or interactive visualizations).
Here’s what’s expected about them:
🔮 What interactive charts will offer
Hover tooltips – you’ll be able to move your mouse over a point, bar, or node and see extra information (e.g., hover over “1960s” → shows Beatles: sitar, tape loops).
Zoom & pan – instead of a fixed-size image, you’ll be able to zoom in on dense areas of the chart or scroll around a large timeline.
Filtering & toggling – you might be able to click checkboxes to show/hide certain bands, decades, or instrument types (e.g., show only “folk instruments” or only “prog rock”).
Linked views – a timeline view could be linked to a detail panel; clicking “Jethro Tull” could pop up their flute-heavy discography examples.
Dynamic updates – if you ask me “add Arcade Fire and Björk,” the chart could redraw itself in real time, instead of me regenerating a static image.
🛠️ Under the hood
Likely powered by Plotly or VegaLite (both are already popular for interactive web charts).
Runs client-side in your browser, so the chart is smooth and responsive.
ChatGPT will still generate the data & chart spec, but you’ll be able to play with it.
📅 Timeline
It’s being tested in ChatGPT Pro/Team workspaces first, with gradual rollout.
Full public support isn’t announced yet, but you’ll probably see interactive data viz alongside code interpreter outputs within the year.
