ChatGPT down: oggi 3 settembre, con malfunzionamenti iniziati dalle ore 9 circa in tutto il mondo. Il chatbot AI di OpenAI risulta come sospeso, non fornisce risposte agli utenti e non dà segni di vita, seppur il sito rimanga correttamente visitabile e così anche l'accesso alle conversazioni precedenti. Ancora sconosciute le motivazioni dietro il down di ChatGPT, gli ultimi episodi degni di nota erano avvenuti a giugno e gennaio.

I think the reason #Python 's packaging tools normally won't install multiple versions of the same package in the same environment is more to avoid confusion more than anything else. Like, when you import a module from the package, which version does it come from? If part of your code needs one version and another part needs a different version, how do you identify in each part of the code which version of the dependency it should import from? And how do you express version constraints on a sub-package level? (like, if source_file_a.py in your package needs dependency-X>=1.2,<2, but source_file_b.py needs dependency-X>=1.6,!=2.0.1,<3) You can write custom code to solve these problems, but I suppose the developers of the packaging standards and tools looked at how it's played out in the past and decided that it's so rarely useful and so potentially confusing that it's not worth supporting in the default setup.

@tintvrtkovic @carlton Global (in the #Python sense of "global", i.e. module-level) state is kept in the module object in memory, but once that module object has been loaded from a file, it exists independently of the file it came from. So if you did load multiple different versions of a package, they'd all correspond to different module objects in memory, each of which could have its own global state. Heck, even with just one version of a package, you could load some module from that package a hundred times and get a hundred different module objects in memory, again each with its own individual global state.
This is kind of what the importlib.reload() function does, although IIRC it also tries to mix the original and reloaded versions of the module in a way that is supposed to make sense if you don't care about the old module. To get a true fresh and independent copy of the module object you'd have to use other importlib functions.

Moundir, célèbre aventurier de Koh-Lanta, a été hospitalisé d’urgence suite à une douleur rénale extrêmement intense. L’ancien candidat a tenu à rassurer ses fans sur son état de santé tout en partageant son combat contre cette affection qui touche près de 10 % de la population. Une nuit d’angoisse et d’intervention médicale qui a suscité une vague d’inquiétude sur les réseaux sociaux.
Une hospitalisation d’urgence qui inquiète les fans
Un appel à la prudence sur Instagram
Le 1er septembre 2025, Moundir a partagé sur Instagram des images depuis sa chambre d’hôpital, notamment un cliché de sa perfusion à l’avant-bras, suscitant une forte inquiétude chez ses abonnés. L’ex-candidat de Koh-Lanta a expliqué souffrir depuis plusieurs jours de douleurs intenses « partant du rein », si sévères qu’elles l’ont contraint à consulter en urgence. Ses fans, déjà sensibilisés à son état lors de son hospitalisation pour Covid-19 en 2021, se sont massivement mobilisés pour lui envoyer soutien et encouragements.
Un suivi médical nécessaire
Bien que le passé hospitalier de Moundir ait amplifié les inquiétudes, l’animateur a tenu à rassurer sa communauté. Il a précisé suivre scrupuleusement les recommandations médicales et attendre les résultats d’examens complémentaires. La nature de la douleur : une colique néphrétique
Une douleur intense et violente
Moundir souffre d’une colique néphrétique, une affection causée par l’obstruction des voies urinaires, le plus souvent due à un calcul rénal. Lorsque le passage de l’urine est bloqué, la pression dans le rein augmente brutalement, entraînant une douleur fulgurante qui irradie vers le bas-ventre et l’aine. Elle est souvent accompagnée de nausées, de sueurs et d’une grande agitation, et est reconnue comme l’une des plus intenses que l’on puisse ressentir.
Un ressenti comparable à un accouchement
L’ex-aventurier a confié que le médecin urgentiste lui avait comparé cette douleur à celle ressentie lors d’un accouchement. « J’ai déjà tenu avec une fracture du tibia, mais là, cette douleur… j’espère ne jamais, jamais la revivre », a-t-il ajouté, illustrant l’intensité de son mal-être et la nécessité d’une prise en charge médicale rapide et efficace.

Un premier passage aux urgences
La douleur a contraint Moundir à interrompre un voyage à Toulouse avec sa femme. Transporté aux urgences de Nîmes, il a reçu une perfusion et de la morphine afin de soulager ses douleurs. Les examens initiaux n’ayant pas révélé la cause exacte, il a été renvoyé chez lui avec des médicaments, mais la douleur est rapidement réapparue.
La découverte du caillot et l’opération à venir
Lors de son second passage aux urgences, un caillot de 5 mm a été identifié dans son rein gauche, responsable d’inflammations intenses. Une intervention chirurgicale a été programmée le 2 septembre pour retirer ce caillot, avec pour objectif de supprimer définitivement la douleur. Moundir a conclu en confiant : « Une douleur que je ne souhaite à personne », soulignant l’épreuve particulièrement difficile qu’il traverse.
Une réaction rassurante mais réaliste
Maintenir le lien avec ses fans
Tout au long de cet épisode, Moundir a veillé à tenir ses abonnés informés, alternant transparence et prudence. Ses publications sur Instagram combinent humour, gravité et rappel des recommandations médicales, permettant de réduire l’inquiétude sans masquer la réalité de la situation.

As it's now Sept, the month agreed [reluctantly] by dad earlier this year for the penguinisation of his win10 pooter, i'm trying to steel myself for The Big Day [or week?]. All along, one of the several complications of this project has been the need for dad to keep using some of his fav legacy windoze pgms. Try as i might, i could not find Linux substitutes for them, nor use them via Wine, nor find online equivalents. Thus i plan, once the penguinisation itself is done, as part of all the subsequent tweaking & finessing, to create a win10 VM, in which will be his "special" pgms .. all offline ofc.
However, in the past week i stumbled across a possibility i'd not considered, & about which i know almost nothing. #Containerisation, one type of which is something called #Docker, which i've heard of vaguely for years but never investigated as i assumed it was a higher level thing for Devs & Sys Admins, not a clueless plonker, apparently in recent years gained an ability to run windoze in linux, not only linux in linux & linux in windoze, as in its earlier years.
So now i'm scrabbling to try & research/learn about this, re if it is viable, & might be a better alternative to the VM i'd intended. One thing i've just read is

Pixelfed es una aplicación bastante inmadura en el sentido de que funciona con muchos fallos (aka como el culo). Hace unas semanas se bloqueó el servidor en el que tenía la cuenta, me intenté cambiar a otro y en el traslado desaparecieron los seguidores. No es una gran pérdida, pero me da pena. Eso sumado a que no se pueden traspasar ni las imágenes, ni a las personas que seguía en el antiguo servidor ni nada de nada, pues que ando empezando de nuevo. Als ich letztens meinen Blog umgestyled und die Activity Pub Integration richtig eingerichtet hatte bin ich mehr durch Zufall auf zwei sehr bemerkenswerte Projekte gestoßen. Das eine Projekt ist UberBlogr, ein sogenannter Webring, das andere Greatblogs was so etwas wie einen kuratierten Blog Index darstellt.
Beide Projekte sind mir sehr sympathisch weil Sie meiner Meinung nach eine Version des Internets repräsentieren die besser war als das was wir heute haben. Denn seien wir ganz ehrlich: heutzutage ist das Internet nur noch selten ein Ort an dem man gerne verweilt. Dominiert wird das heutige Web von den riesigen Plattformen gewinnorientierter Unternehmen die oftmals als Echokammer des Hasses und der Diskriminierung dienen. Wertvollen Content findet man dort meiner Meinung nach nur noch selten. Auch die Creator die dort unterwegs sind tun das vorrangig für die Klicks, die paar Minuten Ruhm, oder ganz simpel für das Geld. Nicht vergessen zu liken und zu abonnieren sage ich da nur.
Vor 10-15 Jahren war das noch ein wenig anders. Viele Leute unterhielten einen Blog, viele suchten Communities in Foren. Gibt es das heute alles nicht mehr? Doch das alles gibt es auch heute noch, auch wenn Foren es heutzutage echt schwer haben, nicht zuletzt aufgrund von rechtlichen Bestimmungen. Was ich in den letzten Tagen gemerkt habe ist das diese Form des nichtkommerziellen Web’s, des Indiewebs wenn man so will, einfach nur schwer zu finden ist.
Denn in Suchmaschinen taucht dieser Content selten auf den ersten Seiten auf, wonach will man auch suchen? Es geht ja eher um Insperation. Oft entdecke ich neue interessante Blogs einfach durch Zufall. Zum Beispiel beim Surfen durch das Fediverse, oder durch Projekte wie UberBlogr und Greatblogs.
Wie bereits erwähnt ist UberBlogr ein Webring Dienst. Ein Begriff mit dem ich bis letzte Woche nicht viel Anfangen konnte da dieses Konzept schon seinen Niedergang erlebte als ich gerade mal im Internet ankam. Es wurde von den Suchmaschinen verdrängt. Im Endeffekt kann man es sich wie eine Kreisförmige Verlinkung der Webring Sites untereinander vorstellen. Mittels Hyperlink kann man sich durch die Webring vor und zurück bewegen. Ihr findet diese Links auch auf meinem Blog wenn Ihr in den Footer schaut. Die Blogs senden neue Inhalte per Ping an den Dienst der die neuesten Beiträge dann via RSS Feed oder Mastodon Bot ausspielt. Abonniert man diesen Feed sieht man gleich wenn im Webring was neues passiert.
Greatblogs ist eher wie ein Index in welchem man seinen Blog anmelden kann und welcher dann nach Prüfung hoffentlich freigeschaltet wird. Auch diese Website listet dann neuen Beiträge auf. Hier werden die Blogs auch gleiche thematisch eingeteilt und man kann auch einzelne Kategorien als RSS Feed abonnieren.
Ich habe in den letzten Tagen über diese beiden Projekte viele neue interessante Blogs gefunden und ich bin echt froh das es diese Art des Internets überhaupt noch gibt. Privatpersonen die über das schreiben was Sie interessiert,was Sie beschäftigt. Seiten die ohne tonnenweise Werbung auskommen, die einen nicht tracken als gäbe es kein Morgen mehr, weil es auch nicht nötig ist. Weil der Author halt die 5€ im Monat für das Webhosting oder den VPS in die Hand nimmt und keine Gewinnabsichten hat.
Ich hoffe das es in der Zukunft noch mehr von diesem Content gibt und das die Projekte wachsen. Ich weiß auf jeden Fall das ich auch versuchen werde das Konzept des bloggens (und die technischen Hintergründe) meinen Kindern weiterzugeben, auf das Sie nicht nur konsumierende Zombies werden.
