Proofpoint researchers have observed an increase in cybercriminals using Stealerium-based malware, an open-source infostealer available on GitHub. Multiple stealers share code with Stealerium, including Phantom Stealer. Campaigns delivering Stealerium have used various lures and file types, targeting industries like hospitality, education, and finance. The malware can exfiltrate a wide range of data, including browser credentials, credit card info, and crypto wallet data. It uses anti-analysis techniques and can exfiltrate data through multiple channels like SMTP, Discord, and Telegram. The rise in Stealerium usage reflects the growing trend of threat actors pivoting to information stealers as identity theft becomes a priority.

Wygląda na to, że kończy się era swobodnego współdzielenia konta YouTube Premium z osobami spoza gospodarstwa domowego. Zgodnie z doniesieniami pojawiającymi się w sieci, Google zaczęło aktywniej egzekwować regulamin swojej usługi. Użytkownicy planów rodzinnych zaczynają otrzymywać ostrzeżenia z 14-dniowym terminem na dostosowanie się do zasad.
Trend, który zapoczątkował Netflix i za którym podążyły inne platformy streamingowe, takie jak Disney+ czy Max, dotarł do YouTube. Chociaż wymóg zamieszkiwania wszystkich członków planu rodzinnego pod jednym adresem figurował w regulaminie usługi od dawna, do tej pory był to w dużej mierze martwy zapis. Teraz sytuacja ulega zmianie. Platforma zaczęła wysyłać powiadomienia do użytkowników, których lokalizacja nie zgadza się z adresem głównego właściciela subskrypcji.
Zgodnie z relacjami użytkowników, którzy podzielili się swoimi doświadczeniami na międzynarodowych forach internetowych, system YouTube’a okresowo sprawdza lokalizację urządzeń powiązanych z kontami w ramach planu rodzinnego. W przypadku wykrycia niezgodności, czyli regularnego logowania z innego adresu, wysyłane jest ostrzeżenie. Użytkownik otrzymuje 14 dni na dołączenie do gospodarstwa domowego głównego subskrybenta.
YouTube pod piracką banderą? Platforma oskarżana o czerpanie zysków z nielegalnych filmów
Jeśli po upływie tego terminu problem nie zostanie rozwiązany, konto takiego członka rodziny traci dostęp do wszystkich benefitów YouTube Premium. Oznacza to powrót reklam, brak możliwości odtwarzania w tle oraz utratę dostępu do YouTube Music Premium. Co istotne, użytkownik nie jest automatycznie usuwany z grupy rodzinnej, co może prowadzić do sytuacji, w której opłata jest wciąż dzielona na osobę, która korzysta już tylko z darmowej wersji serwisu.
Na razie wszystko wskazuje na to, że Google, podobnie jak wcześniej Netflix, wprowadza zmiany stopniowo, testując reakcję rynku w różnych regionach. Nie jest to jeszcze masowa akcja, a raczej fala pojedynczych przypadków, która jednak wyraźnie sygnalizuje nowy, bardziej restrykcyjny kierunek polityki firmy. Celem jest oczywiście zwiększenie przychodów i konwersja osób „współdzielących” konta na w pełni płacących, indywidualnych subskrybentów.

Warto dodać, że w niektórych krajach pojawiają się również doniesienia o testowaniu przez YouTube nowego planu „Duo”, przeznaczonego dla dwóch osób. Miałby on stanowić alternatywę dla par lub współlokatorów, którzy nie potrzebują pełnego, sześcioosobowego pakietu rodzinnego, a dla których dwa osobne abonamenty są nieopłacalne. Być może będzie to jedna z propozycji mających złagodzić skutki nadchodzących zmian.
